Where and by whom do one buy a major household appliance today?  For example, let say you buy a top of the line refrigerator from sears and it stop cooling. You call the repair line and it take two days for them to send out a technician. So in the mean time you buy ice to everything  from spoiling until garbage pick- up day. The technician come and tells you he has to order parts which are made overseas and it will take from five to seven business days for the parts to be shipped to your home, at which time you must call back and make another appointment for him to come and install the parts.

After seven days one of the three parts have been delivered, so you call back and you are told that the overseas vendor did not have all the parts needed for your repairs  and they have to wait for their manufacture to make the part which will take another week. Question, what do you do? Complaining to Sears is a waste of time.  Whirlpool has moved to Mexico and GE makes most of its parts off shore. You can’t even begin to get your head around what people in flood prone area have to go through when they need appliances repairs.  You conduct and inventory of the food lost in the freezer alone and it amounts to over $1,500.00. Sears tell you that they will pay only $38.01 for the loss of food. That want even cover the cost of food for the average household for a day.   One of the parts, the compressor was rerplaced 3 years ago.
