Customer dis-service, more describes the losers here. They were all-to-eager to receive payment for a product maintenance agreement on my Koss dvd player, purchased less than two years ago, but when I needed them to honor things, they said they have no record of my purchase. haha Losers, is what Sears and Kmart employees are, and perhaps they are "special" as in the company gets a break for hiring retarded employees.

Whatever, I know my complaint will get me nothing and nowhere.

I just headed to Wal-Mart and bought a new dvd player, and the hell with Sears.

As a back-up, I also ordered a spare dvd player from Amazon.com, where at least I am respected an appreciated and treated with decency as a customer and as a person.

When dealing with the Sears employee regarding this, he acted as if I were a convicted criminal, waving a gun and I was wrong, way before he even got my personal information. The burden of proof is on the customer, yes, but if Sears cannot keep track of its own records and customers' names and everything, it's no wonder they are the laughing-stock and the butt of every joke.

If you are an employee of Sears, even the Chairman of the Board, or an officer in this hilarious dumbo-company, you should quit - soon. Quit and avoid the do-do-like mentality and pictures we (Americans with money) have in our minds when thinking of you.

The Koss dvd player I purchased was over 100 dollars, and there were many models, ranging all the way down to about $29.95. After purchasing the MA the total purchase was about 160 dollars, total. I am reckoning the defenders of Sears and their (the defenders') electronics knowledge is based upon their being educated at a PUBLIC school, so we must allow some considerations in reading their defense(s) of sears:) r-

It really doe not matter now, because I have purchased 2 more dvd players for the rooms with televsions, from Amazon. com which do better than Sears' products, and I have had NO trouble whatsover getting any help and service from Sears' competition, who posses knowledgeable and comppetent personnel with some integrity. r

Well all companies are like this. Bummer I know. Sears at each store use to have records of everything. But sometimes try another sales person. MA give very good commissions. In fact places like Sears have goals that all are suppose to sell too. Sears is a good company and I liked working there but all of the people use to be a draw. Meaning if you don't sell so much then they take it out of your next commission check. They have you selling your heart out and rarely get ahead on this. As we all know they sell mostly great items but are a bit over priced. The Commission system was meant to reward great sales people but people like me ws always way too honest. And we never got out of debt. as I said the benfits were great and they do try to be fair. Here's something most don't know. Camera footage is taken of every register. So if someone tries to lie say to a manager they are trying to tell me I have no record and look at your security tapes. This will get their attention and they don't want a scene in the store. don't be vulgar or insulting but be firm. MA's ar generally easy cash. Most never file a claim and have way too many limitations. afraid they really most of the time are not worth it.

First off all, if you are buying a Koss DVD player, you are buying the cheapest crap in the store. Of course it is going to break. You payed like $40 dollars for a DVD player what do you expect. Koss is a crappy brand like Sylvania but unfortunately Sears sells it and it's crap. Secondly I guarantee you didn't want to give your phone number to Sears after buying the Service PLan and there was no way to prove you bought it. You should have saved the receipt.

I use to be an employee of Sears in Lexington, KY. Although, I just worked in the shoe department, I witnessed my fair share of "unprofessionalism". I only worked there for 2 months until I began attending Medical School where I can get a real job that means something. Anyway, that's not the point. The point is ever since K-Mart and Sears collided, it's been ridiculous. Period. They pay their employees barely over minimum wage and treat their customers like crap. Now, as far as your DVD player is concerned, I don't know what I would do if I was in your situation. I know for a fact that the guys they have working in the electronics department are as air-headed as it gets. Hell, I probably know more about fixing your DVD player than they do. Anyway! I just wanted to let you know that I feel your pain and just because you ran into a couple of idiots that work there, it doesn't mean they're all the same.

As much as I hate s-mart, seems to me that years ago, when I use to buy those maintentance agreements, s-mart would either give me a copy or send me a copy in the mail of each and every MA I had on all my merchandise. And don't be calling them retarded. I think they're mentally challenged.

I you do buy a MA, make sure you get a copy of it and keep it in a safe place. Another thing to watch out for is that even if you have 6 months or so left on a 2, 3, or 4 year MA, they'll try and sell you a new one, overlapping the old one. Check what is covered, it isn't like the old days. Some of them are next to useless. They'll sell you a 3 years MA on a Seiko watch that has a 3 years warranty or something stupid like that.
