I purchased over five thousand dollars worth of appliances from Sears because they were giving 15% rebate. When I compared Sears price to Best buy, it was clear that best buy had a better pricing. When I saw the sign at Sears that they price match, I asked them to give me the Best buy price. It was all finer and I was also given the rebate form for the 15% rebate. I had submitted the rebate online and the online rebate center displayed the rebate amount that I am going to get in the mail after a month.

After waiting for two months, today when I called Sears about my rebate, I am told that my rebate claim is not valid since I was given a price match. No where in any forms including the rebate forms state this. At this point I wanted to return the appliances get my money back. However, I will have to pay 15% re-stocking fee even though it was their mistake. What a rip-off.

What this experience taught me couple things. DO NOT TRUST SEARS. Second, consumers are not getting a good price at Sears. Not even close. Their rebate or Sale is actually on a highly inflated price. I am sure it's illegal for false advertisement and deceive consumer like this. My next step is to get a consumer advocacy lawyer and file a formal complaint.

Needless to say, I will never go to Sears for anything, Ever!!
