On June 2004, went into the Sears store in Columbia, Md and paid off my credit card $125 ( I only used the card once ) Three months later I recieved a bill for Interest and late fees for $39. I called and they said there was a balance on the card when I paid it off for 24 cents. It was for insurance. I told them I didn't ask for insurance, show me the policy. Had to call the insurance company and they credited the insurance off. Sears then sent another bill for $78. I called they noticed that the insurance for 24 cents had been credited but they had to send me to Citi bank collections because they were handling it. Called Citi bank they said it was an internal billing error, for $2.40 residual interest from the time I paid (even though I was early) to the minute they posted. That it was accruing interest and late fees. This went on from September to January. I went into Sears and wrote out a check for $165 and asked will that cover the residual interest on your billing error. Please never call me or bill me again. The manager said they couldn't garrentee that I wouldn't continue being billed. I Just never want to hear the name Sears again. And I want this nightmare to stop. I would warn anyone who is thinking of getting one of these cards to beware, this could happen to you.

I think you let the insurance company off too easy.

It was there mistake that caused the late fees and interest. They should have credited the entire amount.

i think that what you are being charged interest on now are the late fees and interest that the insurance company should have paid in the first place.
