Summerville In June 1999 my girlfriend purchased a range, dishwasher and refrigerator from sears. After all the paper work was done we were told it would be a week to 10 days before it could be delivered. This was a minor inconvience compared to what happened later.

Less than a year later the refrigerator went down. It was still under full warranty.

We called repair service and a repairman came out. He said the compressor was going down and to point a fan at it and it would work until a new one could be delivered in two days.

This did not work. We called back and were told nothing could be done until a new compressor arived.

We waited three days and called back. We were told to contact Mr. Steve Boyles in Marietta Ga. He was over the service dept. Mr. Boyles said the compressor had not come in bet would be here that day.

Two days later I called Mr. boyles back and was told he would get a part locally and send it right out.

A couple of days and many phone calls later a repair man came out and installed a ney plugin relay which fixed the problem. He did not bring a compressor with him. We were called to call Mr. Boyles for reimbursement for the food we had lost.

Mr. Boyles instructed us to list what we lost and take the list to the Rome Ga. store. We did.

After about a month we called Mr. Boyles back and were told that Sears would not reinburse us because the second repairman did not inventory our loss. Sorry but we were not keeping rotting food around for that long.

Neeedless to say my girlfriend canceled her Sears Gold Card and we have not been in a Sears store since.

Every effort to complain to Sears was stonewalled.

Sears, we are still waiting for an explanation as to why we were lied to so many times by your representive.

Thanks rip-off report, sears in Rome GA sent us a check.

The rip-off report works. After mailing sears a copy of the rip-off report we were contacted by a sears customer service rep. Within a few days we recieved a check from sears covering our losses. we were also promised that they would investigate the problem and deal with the parties in an appropiate manner.
