Three years ago, I purchased a TV for $1300. This included a 3 year warrantee. Exactly 2 years ago or one year after we bough the TV, the TV failed to produce a picture. This was immediately repaired under warrantee. Then in January, just as the warrantee ended, we began to notice problems with the picture on the right side of the screen. Now, just 3 months into the warrantee failing, the TV is completely shot. Sears agreed to have a service repair technician come out to our home to look at the TV to repair it on them as it was way too close to the ending date of our warrantee. The technician stated that the TV is NOT repairable because all the parts needed are no longer available.

This TV is barely used, but maybe 3 hours a day. We now have a $1300 piece of plastic that we cannot repair and that we cannot replace. This is not acceptable. We have TV's in this house that are 30 years old and are still running. We have TV's that are 15 years old and still running. And TV's that are 10 years old and still running. To have a 3 year old TV that dies just three months after the warrantee ends is absurd. But to die and not even be repairable is even more upsetting.

Sears is refusing to deal with this situation appropriately. There is no excuse for a product this expensive to not last at least 5-10 years if not longer, let alone last more than three months after a warrantee ends. The most they will offer us is $125 off a new TV. That is not even negotiable as we have no money to purchase a new TV.
