Complaint Review: Seattle Mattress

During the month of April 2007, I left a $70 deposit (1/2 cost) of recovering a single size mattress. This cost was for recovering a mattress not not rebuilding it and the balance of the remaining cost was to be paid at the time of delivery.

During the month of June 2007, a salesman from Seattle mattress advised me that the factory could only rebuild the mattress and couldn't recover it. I agreed to it provided it was left to original specification. During the month of October, the salesman from Seattle mattress advised me that the factory had changed their mind about rebuilding it. I advised the salesman that I would pick up the mattress
on or about December 21, 2007.

At approximately 4:15pm on 12-21-2007, I stopped by Seattle mattress and found a note on the door indicating that they were gone and wouldn't be back for almost an hour. As a result, I contacted the salesman a couple of weeks later and made arrangements for someone to pick up the mattress. After going through the trouble of finding someone to pick it up, the salesman at Seattle Mattress then advised me that the mattress had been thrown out.

Seattle mattress is not a place that I would recommend for rebuilding anything. I never got reimbursed for the mattress that was lost. All I wanted was just to have the mattress recovered. It didn't need to be rebuilt.

Subsequently I tried contacting the City of Seattle Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs to find out who the owner was and I was told it was a Robert Montgomery. I called Seattle Mattress and left a message to have Robert Montgomery call, but I was told that he would not call me. Ne never called.
