Complaint Review: Seawest Financial

We bought a 2000 Dodge Intrepid from a Buy-here-Pay here auto dealer. Well, they told us it would be cheaper and better for us if we went through Seawest instead. That was the lie of the century. We have paid $390.00 for 2 years and the account has only gone down by less than $1000.

At Christmas we mailed our payment off and they called being their usual nasty selves saying they had not received it. They told us it is now late and you MUST send a payment Western Union today. When we receive the check we will not cash it and send it back to you. I did as they asked and within 3 days they received my check and cashed it anyway. I called to correct this and they said there was nothing they could do. I should be happy that I would not have a payment due the next month. Nevermind that their actions made my other bill checks bounce.

We were never late until my husband lost his job last summer. We ended up having to move acroos the state for his new job. It took 2 months to find this job because the emploment rate is terrible here. They called 10 times a day to us and our family. We were only a few days late. The lady that called told me I needed to get a job. When I explained to her we had just moved here a week before and I was trying to find a job, she told me that I do not care about my family or I would already have a job. I hung up on her and her "supervisor" called me right back to discuss repo of hte car. I told them to go ahead and come after the car. I was so sick of trying to talk to these nasty people. She told me if they repo the car, I will still have to pay the entire loan off and I won't get the car back. That is crazy. She said they would take the car and garnish my husbands wages for the payment anyway. I hope no one else ever has to deal with these NASTY Bas...ds.
