My husband's check was not printed due to the accountant leaving and we were desparate for cash to pay bills and went in search of a short term loan. After a day, this company took $33.98 out of our account as well as another company that took $400.00. I have since filed a dispute with the bank as well as with this "procustserve". This web site worked on Friday and they even had a place where you could request a refund if you had been charged without knowledge, but today (Wednesday) I cannot even find the web page, all it says is that it doesn't exsist.

Let this be a warning to all..... DO NOT give your personel checking account, social security, email address or phone number to ANYONE that you do not know. Since Friday, we have had over 700 email messages hit our Yahoo. I have closed my checking account and it has been a BIG mess. Not to mention that I have not gotton my $33.98 back that was promised within 72 hours.

You will now have to keep a very close watch on your credit report. In addition to compromising your bank account, you also gave them enough info to assume your identity. The first thing you need to do is contact the credit reporting agencies and attach a "fraud alert" to your credit report. It's not foolproof, but it may keep legitimate lenders from opening accounts to imposters. Do not waste any time. Do this right now!

As you've learned, it's a bad idea to give out personal information on the internet when you don't know exactly who you're dealing with.
