Secured Document Most Deceptive Marketing I have EVER seen! Washington DC, Washington DC
Warning to all new home owners! I came across one of the most deceptive pieces of mail at my home today. I opened a letter from a company called 'Secured Document' to find what appears to be a bill for a Grant Deed in the amount of $83. This "bill" was labeled as a 'Deed Processing Notice' that even included a due date. What a complete SCAM! (Glad to see that a company like this exists in our nation's capital). Secured Document is truly pathetic to have created such misleading marketing collateral in order to trick people, specifically new home owners, out of their money by having them think they have another bill to pay. They assume that people are too dumb to read the fine print . . .
I'm returning the letter in the envelope to waste a stamp . . . how about a fake check?

I'm a Realtor and several of my clients have received this deceptive mailing. Hopefully your post will stop others from falling for it. I understand the mailing looks very official. Thank you for publicly posting about this ripoff (asking buyers to pay for public records you can easily download for free). If someone has a photo, please post it so others can be aware.
