This is a warning to anyone recieving a letter from Secured Document (National Processing Center), or something similar. When you buy a home, you may recieve a letter in the mail from what looks like a reputable source. They make it seem as if you need to pay them $85 to order a copy of your new home's deed. This is a lie.

You should already have a copy of it in your closing paperwork. Iif you don't, you can go to your local courthouse and get one cheap.

If you have any questions, read the whole letter. mine says "This product or service has not been approved, or endorsed by any government agency, and this offer is not being made by an agency of the government. This is not a bill. This is a solicitation; you are under no obligation to pay the amount stated, unless you accept this offer...."

I am going to mail them back their letter with no payment so they waste a stamp, and I suggest everyone do the same.

As a new homeowner, I was concerned at first when I recieved this in the mail. I looked it up online and then read the disclaimer. You should do the same.
