Securitas Security ripoff Hagerstown Maryland
I had been working for securitas since June 2005. I was transferred to another site because I couldn't handle the overnight shift.
I was at the new site for several months, and then out of the blue, I was transferred to another part of that site plus another site where I would have been working from 2 am until 2 pm on both Saturday and Sunday, I chose not to do this because I wouldn't have had any time with my daughter.
I was called into the office and told that if I wasn't going to accept the position, I needed to turn my uniforms in because they didn't have anything else for me but yet I know there were several other sights that needed help.

Unfortunately, security work can be like that sometimes.
You have to put the needs of the company first and work where and when they tell you.
The long hours are not compatible with family obligations especially single mothers without family and/or reliable friends to keep the child(ren).
I feel VERY sure they discriminated against you because the figured that you would have a lt of absences in case anything happened to your childre. etc.& etc. Besides, it gave them the excuse to get rid of one more woman employee.
If you are African American or Latina, I would have added the company had ulterior motives that were racist too.
Talk to an attorney and see what you can do.
Security work is very demanding and the hours are long, unpredictable and sometimes it can be extremely dangerous.
If I were you,. I would also rethink my career choice.
I did it for 20 years and had no children and I ended up permanently disabled and having to retrain for another job.The same as if I had never been in it at all.
