SECURITAS SECURITY SERVICES Cheap and extremely low class employer Houston, Texas
Securitas Security Services of Houston, is most likely the worst employer I ever worked for, I would advise anyone who may be thinking of working with them to stay away. The way they stay in business is to constantly hire and fire people on a regular basis. They will assign you to work somewhere that is a hour away from your home and pay you about $8.50 to $9.00 an hour. In other words, you will be working for gas money, they treat their employees like dirt. You will have little to no benefits, I was assigned to a major Houston oil company, Halliburton Oak Park. Halliburton is a very professional company but they have no idea what is going on behind their backs concerning Securitas. Security Officers there are constantly sleeping on the job, the desk sargeant Nancy is constantly cursing out anyone who gets in her way. She brags about being there for over twenty years (after 20 years she only makes $13 phr.) and she believes that she is untouchable. Even her patron (Halliburton) would have a difficult time firing her because of her tenure there. There is a Captain assigned to that location, but for some reason strange reason Nancy is allowed to order him around. All she does during the entire day is play games on the internet, scratch off lottery tickers, curse out contractors and security officers, threaten to fire anyone she doesn't like and make people run personal errands like go to the cleaners and buy lunch for her. And then there is a Field Manager named Daniel, this person does not have a clue about what he is doing and he is the one assigned to lie to prospective employees, and then fire them. I was never fired, but I left because I am not used to working with such a low class company as Securitas Security Services of Houston, Texas.

WHAT YOU ARE DESCRIBING IS NOT AN UNUSUAL AT ALL FOR THOSE OF US WHO HAVE SURVIVED WORKING PRIVATE SECURITY JOBS FOR UNBELIEVEABLY INHUMANE AND GREEDY COMPANIES LIKE SECURITAS. ALL OF THESE PRIVATE SECURITY GUARD CONTRACTING COMPANIES ARE ALIKE. THEY FURNISH BODIES IN CHEAP POLYESTER UNIFORMS TO CLIENTS WHO THINK THEY ARE GETTING HIGHLY TRAINED AND HIGHLY SKILLED PROFESSIONALS WHEN ALL THEY ARE GETTING IS ANYONE STUPID OR DESPERATE ENOUGH TO WEAR THE POLYESTER AND BECOME AN INTERCHANGEABLE, DISPENSABLE AND DISPOSABLE NOTHING, A NON-PERSON.
YOU HAVE A LOT OF PERCEPTION FOR SOMEONE WHO DIDN'T STAY AROUND THE MISERABLE WORLD OF PRIVATE SECURITY GUARD CONTRACTORS LIKE I DID.
THE REASON THERE IS CONSTANT TURNOVER IS BECAUSE THEY WANT TO MAXIMIZE PROFITS. WHY GIVE SOME GUY A 25 CENT AN HOUR RAISE WHEN YOU CAN GO OUT AND PUT ANY WINO IN THE CHEAP POLYESTER UNIFORM AND PAY THEM STARTING PAY.
SO THEY THINK OF PRETEXTS AND LIES AND REASONS TO FIRE YOU IF YOU ASK FOR A RAISE OR EVEN A VACATION.
YOU ALSO HAVE IGNORANT, NEO-n**i COP WANNABES WHO WILL ALMOST PAY THEM FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF WEARING THE POLYESTER CHEAP.
THAT IS WHAT THEY WANT YOU DO TO --YOU TO PAY THEM FOR WEARING THE POLYESTER SUIT--AND THEY ARE SKIMMING HUGE PROFITS OFF THE STUPID, THE GULLIBLE AND THOSE WHO ARE DESPERATE FOR A JOB THESE DAYS.
THE WORKING CONDITIONS YOU DESCRIBE AT HALLIBURTON REMIND ME OF SIMILAR CONDITIONS I HAD ON ONE OF MY POSTS IN DALLAS, TEXAS. THERE WAS A LADY THERE TOO WHO HAD BEEN THERE FOR A WHILE, SHE WAS RUNNING BUDDIES WITH THE BUILDING MANAGER AND LOOKED LIKE A WHITE APE IN HEAVY CLOWN MAKEUP. SHE NIT PICKED ALL OF THE OTHER GUARDS AND ACTED JUST LIKE THE WOMAN YOU DESCRIBE HERE EXCEPT THIS WAS BEFORE COMPUTERS BECAME FIXTURES IN THE WORKPLACE.
SHE LIVED TO MAKE YOUR LIFE HELL AND TO KISS THE BUTT OF THAT PROPERTY MANAGER. SHE LIKED TO GET PEOPLE FIRED OR TRANSFERRED OUT BECAUSE THAT MADE HER LOOK GOOD WITH THE SECURITY COMPANY AND KEPT THEM FROM HAVING TO GIVE RAISES AND BENEFITS.
BENEFITS? IN TEXAS, SECURITY COMPANIES WERE NOT REQUIRED TO GIVE BENEFITS AND IF THEY DID, YOU COULD NOT AFFORD THEM ON THE PITTANCE WAGES WE WERE PAID. WE WENT TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM WITH THE ILLEGAL ALIENS AND THE VIOLENCE VICTIMS IF WE REALLY HAD TO GET MEDICAL HELP.
NOBODY WANTS TO HIRE YOU IF YOU TRY TO TRANSFER INTO ANOTHER JOB SECTOR ONCE THEY FIND OUT YOU HAVE WORKED AS A PRIVATE SECURITY GUARD. SO YOU ARE RATHER STUCK THERE UNLESS YOU GO AND DRIVE A TRUCK WHICH IS ANOTHER KIND OF HELL
THE WOMAN YOU DESCRIBE MIGHT BE THAT DREAM EMPLOYEE THAT PRIVATE SECURITY COMPANIES CALL AN "EOE TWOFER"--A WOMAN AND AN OBVIOUS MEMBER OF AN ETHNIC GROUP--AFRICAN AMERICAN AND LATINO WERE THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER. ONE OF THESE WOULD BE INSTALLED IN A PROMINENT PLACE IN THE CLIENT WORKPLACE AND IF SHE WAS " A SAUCY GAL"--ALWAYS LAUGHING, ALWAYS LOUD AND JOKING AND SMILING BUT KNOWING HER PLACE," WELL THEN SO MUCH THE BETTER. LIKE THE STEREOTYPES OF ASSERTIVE BLACK OR LATINO WOMEN ON THE SIT COMS AND IN FILMS.
THE IDEA OF THE TWO-FER WAS SO THAT THE SECURITY COMPANY WOULD BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE EEOC MANDATES TO HIRE WOMEN AND MINORITIES AND SO THEY WOULD CHEAT A LITTLE BY HAVING ONE PERSON HIRED FOR TWO CATEGORIES. THEY HAD TO HAVE A DEMONSTRATIVE QUOTA SO THEY CAN BE ELIGIBLE TO BID ON GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS THEMSELVES AND TO BE HIRED BY CLIENTS WHO MAKE THEIR MONEY FROM GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS TOO.
NOT KNOWING THE ETHNICITY OF THE WOMAN YOU DESCRIBE BUT BASED SOLELY ON HER ACTIONS THAT YOU DESCRIBE, I THINK THAT SHE EITHER SCREWED SOMEONE ON THE WAY UP WHEN SHE STARTED OUT THERE AS A GUARD AND HIS PATRONAGE HELPS HER TO KEEP HIS JOB OR SHE HAS SOME BIG BLACKMAIL ON SOMEONE WHO CAN HELP HER KEEP HER JOB ,SHE IS RELATED TO SOMEONE WHO CAN HELP HER KEEP HER JOB OR SHE IS PROVIDING "SPECIAL SERVICES" AND/ OR PAYING A BRIBE TO SOMEONE TO KEEP HER JOB.
SHE COULD ALSO BE THE WIDOW OR A CLOSE RELATIVE OF A FORMER EXECUTIVE WITH HALLIBURTON OR OF AN EXCEPTIONAL EMPLOYEE MAYBE WHO WAS KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY ON THE JOB OR SOMETHING OR SOMEONE TO WHOM THEY OWE A FAVOR.
I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF ANY GUARD OR SUPERVISOR MAKING $13 AN HOUR AT ANY SECURITY GUARD COMPANY I EVER WORKED FOR EXCEPT FOR THE Y2K SCARE WHERE I MADE $20 AND $15 AN HOUR TWO DAYS BEFORE AND TWO DAYS AFTER JANUARY 1, 2000 WHEN THE TECH COMPANIES AND THE YUPPI4E SNITS WHO RAN THEM WERE AFRAID THEY WOULD BE OVERRUN WITH TERRORISTS AND CRIMINALS WHEN THE DATES IN THEIR COMPUTERS WOULD NOT RESET FROM 1999 TO 2000. h*o HUM. I WAS ARMED LIKE RAMBO BUT THE COMPUTERS RESET AS I KNEW THE WOULD AND LIE WENT ON.
BUT DON'T THINK THAT THE WOMAN IS THERE FOREVER.

WELL, THE NEW BOSS CAME IN AND DECIDED THAT THE OLD MAN LOOKED TOO OLD AND SO HE TOLD THE SECURITY COMPANY TO GET RID OF HIM.
THE CLIENT HOLDS ALL THE HIGH CARD SO IT WAS GOODBYE OLD MAN AND $6/HR. WHEN THE PREVAILING WAGE WAS $4/HR. AND IN COMES A COMPANY OF YOUNG WHITE BOYS AGED 18-22 IN QUICK SUCCESSION. TURNS OUT THE NEW BOSS WAS SLEEPING WITH THEM AND ONE MANAGED TO VIDEOTAPE THE ACTIVITY AS PROOF AND SO HE BECOMES THE DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE SECURITY. WHO SAID ONLY WOMEN SLEEP THEIR WAY TO THE TOP? I GUESS HE IS STILL THERE UNTIL THE BOSS DIES OF AIDS OR RETIRES AND AS GOOD WITH COVERT SURVEILLANCE DEVICES AS THIS GUY IS, HE WILL PROBABLY GET SOME GREAT BLACKMAIL FOOTAGE ON THE NEXT BOSS WHO COMES IN.
AND THAT IS WHAT IT TAKES TO GET MORE MONEY IN THE PRIVATE SECURITY GUARDS CONTRACTING BUSINESS.

WHAT YOU DESCRIBE HERE IS NOT AN UNUSUAL RIP OFF ALTHOUGH IT CERTAINLY IS POPULAR WITH THE SCUMBAG PSYCHOS WHO RUN THESE CUTTHROAT SHABBY COMPANIES.
IT IS DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS FOR ANY AND ALL PRIVATE SECURITY GUARD CONTRACTING SERVICES.
YOU ARE DEFINITELY RIGHT ABOUT PRIVATE SECURITY COMPANIES RUNNING THE PEOPLE THROUGH. THEY DO NOT WANT YOU TO STAY AROUND LONG ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO GET A PAY RAISE. WHY SHOULD THEY GIVE YOU EVEN A MEASLY 25 CENTS AN HOUR RAISE WHEN THEY CAN JUST GET SOME WINO OFF THE STREET, PUT THE CHEAP POLYESTHER SUIT ON HIM OR HER AND PAY THEM STARTING PAY.
THE WAY MOST SECURITY OFFICERS MANAGE TO STAY ON ANY ONE POST AND ANY ONE JOB AS LONG AS THAT FEMALE OFFICER HAS -- CAN'T BELIEVE SHE IS MAKING $13 AN HOUR!-- IS THEY HAVE BLACKMAIL ON THE CLIENT OR THE SECURITY COMPANY OWNER, OR MAYBE PROVIDING "FAVORS" OR KICKBACKS OR THEY HAVE A FRIEND OR RELATIVE SOMEHOW EMPLOYED IN A DECISION-MAKING CAPACITY BY THE CLIENT. THIS IS NOT A TYPICAL CASE AT ALL AND THE WAY THIS WOMAN IS FLOUTING THE RULES THAT EVERYONE ELSE HAS TO ABIDE BY TELLS ME THAT SHE DEFINITELY HAS SOMETHING ON SOMEONE.
I DO NOT KNOW THIS PARTICULIAR WOMAN'S STORY AND I WAS NOT SPEAKING ABOUT HER. I DO NOT KNOW HER AND I CAN'T SPEAK ABOUT HER. JUST BASED ON WHAT YOU SAID.
I USED TO SEE PEOPLE LIKE THIS TIME AND TIME AGAIN AND ONE TIME WHEN I WENT TO A POST ---- THE PERSON WAS GONE. I THOUGHT THEY HAD BEEN THERE FOREVER AND I SHOWED UP AND THE PERSON WAS JUST...GONE.
THE PERSON IN THAT INSTANCE JUST HAPPENED TO LOOK TOO OLD TO THE NEW BOSS WHO HAD JUST TAKEN OVER AND HE REQUESTED THE REMOVAL OF THE OLD MAN AND SINCE HE IS THE CLIENT, THE GUARD COMPANY BENDS OVER BACKWARDS AND STARTS BRINGING IN YOUNG, GREAT-LOOKING YOUNG HUNKS AGES 18-22. TURNS OUT THE BOSS STARTS HAVING AFFAIRS AND ONE OF THE YOUNG MEN IS SMART ENOUGH TO GET IT ON VIDEOTAPE AND BECOMES DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE SECURITY...AND YOU THOUGHT ONLY WOMEN SLEPT THEIR WAY TO THE TOP!
I THINK THAT IS WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL AS A SECURITY GUARD AND THAT IS ONE OF THE MANY,MANY,MAN Y REASONS i AM NO LONGER WORKING FOR SECURITAS, ALLIED BARTON, WACKENHUT OR ANY OF THE OTHER PROVIDERS OF REPLACEABLE BODIES IN CHEAP POLYESTER SUITS AND PUNCHING BAGS AND SCRATCHING POSTS FOR THEIR YUPPIE, IDIOTIC CLIENTS.
