Well Let me first start off by saying that I am 22 years old and living in Sacramento California where i was born and raised..I got Good Grades in High school, graduated 2004 with a 4.0 Gpa. and was Heading For College..In 2005 I had two jobs for awhile, just trying to work my way through college and One of those Jobs I had just Gotten was Securitas Security Services Usa as a Security Gaurd..
I had heard a little bit of Gossip that this company was Basically a Joke and that their constant short cuts and mismanagement were losing Them Business accounts Faster than any other company...Plus it seemed as if they hired a lot of "incompetant" and unreliable gaurds and sent them out to a jobsite with out much training and preparation..
Well The office happened to be really close to my House so I went in and applied anyway...I figured that since I am Smart and Reliable, Polite, Hard Working, and Ambitious, I should start working There and possible be able to Move up Fairly quickly in the Company..Maybe get Raises or Move up in position......I WAS VERY VERY WRONG....THIS COMPANY BENDS RULES, LAWS, LABOR CODES, AND CONTRACTS ALL THE TIME. THEY TREAT THEIR EMPLOYEES LIKE EXPENDABLE GARBAGE AND ACT INVINCIBLE WHEN IT COMES TO IMPROVING THEIR VIOLATIONS OR EVEN ADMITTING FAULT AT ALL..
I started out with a positive out look..Went to training, learned everything I was supposed to, passed all the tests, and got sent out to my First Jobsite..It was great for me..People Call off all the time so there was no shortage of overtime..I became their "Yes" Guy...Any extra shift that was needed, I would cover with no problems...My Site Supervisor was happy with my performance and I loved all my Co Workers for the most Part..I almost never called in or got written up but I still failed to get a raise after my first year of employment..
THERE WAS ALWAYS EXTRA HOURS AVAILABLE AT MY JOBSITE, THAT IS PROBABLY WHY I STAYED SO LONG, BUT IT GOT TO BE TOO MUCH...THE SCHEDULERS ALWAYS MADE "SCHEDULING ERROrS" TO WHERE 2 GAURDS MIGHT BE TOLD TO SHOW UP AT THE SAME POST AcCIDENTLY OR NO ONE WAS TOLD TO SHOW UP AND WE WOULD HAVE TO "HOLD OVER" ON OUR SHIFT TO COVER IT....It was ok the first few times but if you had Court or Jury Duty or College to go to, or picking up your children at a certain time, It would be frustrating to Be "Forced" to stay on Post or Threatened with Termination or Write ups.....
Several times Me or the other officers were threatened by a scheduler, my site supervisor, or Branch Management To stay later on a shift, come in early, and other things like that...I just kept my mouth shut and focused on work, I still loved my job at that point...When I hit my two year mark, things were already a lot worse.....
MY SITE SUPERVISOR WAS FIRED SUDEDENLY, "SUPPOSEDLY MANAGEMENT FOUND OUT SHE WAS LIVING A SECRET "GAY" LIFESTYLE. "BUT I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE MYSELF"..WE WERE LEFT WITH OUT A SUPERVISOR FOR A LONG TIME AND WHEN SECURITAS FINALLY SENT SOMEONE...THEY WERE BASICALLY AN IDIOT...VERY IN EXPERIENCED AND IN EFFECTIVE...SECURITAS ACTUALLY ENDED UP LOSING THAT ACCOUNT RIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS 2007, AND ALL 12-14 GAURDS WERE TAKEN OFF THAT SITE WITHOUT CHRISTMAS BONUS...
WE WERE ALL IN LIMBO FOR AWHILE WITH NO JOBSITE..TOLD TO CALL IN EVERYDAY UNTIL WORK WAS AVAILABLE..AROUND THAT TIME, OUR BRANCH OFFICE HAD INFORMED US OF SOME TYPE OF ACCOUNTING ERROR AND THAT OUR CHECKS MIGHT BE A LITTLE "OFF" AND THAT THEY WERE WORKING ON THE PROBLEM...WELL HE HAND DELIVERED THE CHECKS TO ALL OF US AND AS SOON AS WE ALL OPENED THEM WE REALIZED THAT MOST OF OUR "2 WEEK FULL TIME CHEKS WERE ONLY" $47 OR $112.....WE WERE ALL SHOCKED AND BROUGHT OUT COPIES OF OUR SCHEDULES AND TIME SHEETS TO TRY AND CORRECT THIS..
I asked our Sacramento Branch Manager, Lennie Evans for help in correcting this problem...(I really Looked up to him because I think he said he was an ex Marine, and Cause he is the Only other Black male that I had seen In a management position in the company so I always showed him respect...Well when I asked when is the soonest i can come to the office, bring in my copies of the schedule, and sit down with accounting to go over this, He got an attitude with me, Basically said "***K You""you are nothing to me"Refused to answer my questions, And left the site....I couldn't believe it...I was always quiet and just did my Job, He never had any complaints about me or from me...I looked up to this guy and This entire company just so happened to Let me Down......
I MEAN WE HAVE HAD A GUY REMOVED FROM THE SITE FOR TRYING TO GET THE CURRENT SITE SUPERVISOR FIRED JUST SO HE COULD BE THE NEXT SUPERVISOR, AND HE WAS NEVER TERMINATED JUST MOVED....ONE SECURITY GAURD WHO WORKED SPECIFICALLY AT THIS PRIVATE SCHOOL PROGRAM CALLED VAPAC, ON THE DEPOT PARK JOBSITE....HE WAS BROUGHT UP ON CHARGES OF SEXUAL HARRASMENT OF ONE OF THE FEMALE GRADE SCHOOL GIRLS, WHICH WAS OBSERVED AND BACKED UP BY THE GIRL'S MOTHER, WHO APARENTLY SAW IT HAPPEN...HE DENIED, GOT PISSED OFF, AND THREATENED TO COME BACK AND SHOOT UP ALL OF US OTHER GAURDS AT THE SITE....
i NOTIFIED SECURITAS BECAUSE HE WAS CALLING THE GAURD PHONE WITH THREATS, TEXTING OUR PERSONAL CELL PHONES, AND SHOWED UP AT THE GATES ONCE OR TWICE....bUT WE WERE TOLD NOT TO LET HIM BACK ON THE PROPERTY EVER!!!!WELL I TOLD SECURITAS.....CAUSE THIS GUY WAS SERIOUSLY WACKED, AND I FEARED FOR MY LIFE.....SECURITAS DID NOTHING, AND I HEARD THAT THIS GUY WAS ONLY TRANSFERED, NOTHING ELSE.....
ALMOST EVERY PAYCHECK HAD SOME MISTAKE OR HOURS MISSING OR OT PAY WAS NOT COUNTED OR DOUBLE TIME PAY WASNT COUNTED RIGHT....THE MISTAKES NEVER SEEMED TO END....

SO I JUST AVOIDED HIM ANYTIME THAT I WAS IN THE OFFICE...I FOUND WORK AT ANOTHER SITE WHICH WAS KIND OF A FAR DRIVE FROM MY HOUSE BUT IT WAS ALL THEY HAD AVAILABLE AT THE TIME SO I BEGAN WORKING THAT SITE AND I LOVED IT, AND MY SITE SUPERVISOR lOVED ME, aND I LIKED MY cO WORKERS..wELL A SITE BECAME AVAILABLE, AND SECURITAS TRIED TO REMOVE ME FROM MY SITE AND MAKE ME COMMUTE ALL THE WAY TO DIXON CA, MY SITE SUPER SUPERVISOR TOLD ME THAT I WAS WELCOMED TO SAY WHERE I WAS, BUT LENNIE EVANS HAD ME REMOVED FROM THE SITE FOR REFUSING TO TAKE THE DIXON SITE, I WAS PUT ON SUPENSION FOR A FEW MONTHS....
i DID RETURN TO WORK AT ONE MORE SITE FOR A FEW MOTHS AFTER THAT BUT AFTER i HAD TO CALL IN...."ONE TIME" aFTER I WAS HAVING CAR TROUBLE I WAS TOLD THAT IF I DIDN'T FIND A WAY TO COME IN I WAS FIRED.....I WAS ANGRY THAT I HAD TO WORK WITH MANY MANY GAURDS WHO LEFT THE JOBSITE WHEN THEY WERN'T SUPPOSED TO, CALLED OFF SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK, BROKE RULES AND POLICIES SEVERAL TIMES BUT WERE NEVER DISCHARGED AS A RESULT.....
I HAD BEEN WORKING THERE FOR 2 AND 1\2 YEARS JUST TO BE DISCHARGED AFTER ONE CALL OFF WITH NOT THAT MANY VIOLATIONS IN MY RECORDS......I BELIEVE THAT THIS WAS BECAUSE LENNIE EVANS, FOR WHATEVER REASON DIDN'T LIKE ME, AND HAD NOT LIKED ME EVER SINCE THE DAY I ASKED HIM ABOUT OUR CHECK MISTAKES AND HE GOT ANGRY AT ME...I DIDN'T EVEN ARGUE WITH THE DISPATCHER WHEN HE SAID I WAS fIRED BECAUSE I FIGURED THAT I COULD PROBABLY FIND A BETTER JOB THEN THEM ANYWAY...
WELL IT WAS HARD OUT THERE IN THE UNEMPLOYMENT MARKET AND WHEN I APPLIED FOR UNEMPLOYMENT, A SECURITAS REPRESENTATIVE SHOWED UP TO BLOCK IT....I HAVE BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH PAIN AND SUFFERING WITH THIS COMPANY THAT I AM JUST TRYING TO FOGET THE EXPERIENCE NOW.......

There is a difference between "guard" companies like Securitas and true "private security" companies. At 22 I seriously doubt that you would have the qualifications to work for a true private security company. That is not a slur. Most of the people that work for true private security companies have years of military and/or law enforcement experience. Private security companies or contractors as they are called actually PROTECT their clients with high-tech weapons, armored SUV's etc.
The other posters are correct. STAY AWAY from guard companies. They are bad news.

Don't list this garbage as a past employer. At your young age you can lose those years on a resume. And another thing! Don't be so intimidated by scum like this. In your life you will meet a lot of loud mouth tough guy types. They love it when they can intimidate. I've always loved it when I called them on it! Their attitude changes quick. I have had fun with people like that. You said Lennie said he was a x marine? Ill bet a years salary if he was in the service at all he was kicked out within 6 months. And that seems to be the case with these types.

So anyway, after paying to get my Car fixed....But losing my job with Securitas, after one "Call In" when Gaurds who regularly have "No Call NO Shows" every month are never Diciplined or Discharged, I am out of work and trying to Apply for Unemployment..I would have had no problem Continuing My College SEmester if Unemployment Would have been able to kick in..I also had rent and bills to pay......Will I get Called into a Court Hearing By The Unemployment Department Where to my surprize, There are two Representatives of Securitas there and A scheduler I had only known for about One Month while working for securitas.....They went into this big speech about how I was a Terrible employee who Voluntarily Quit By not showing up for work That Day.....The Funny thing is that they Tried to say that I had " No Call No Showed" and that is why I was let Go.....Well Then why in the Hell Have I seen 20-30 Other Gaurds who Had "NO Called, NO Showed and still had their Jobs???.....I mean They Told the Judge that I was A ""Do NOt Re Hire"....Hahaha, I Laughed at that, They are trying to Contend that Anyone who No Call NO showed Should be fired, They even had the report from when i called in and notified the Dispatcher that I was having Car Trouble....HOW CAN THIS COMPANY LET COUNTLESS VIOLATIONS, PROBLEMS, AND MISCHIEF GO UN CHECKED WITH IN THIER COMPANY AND THEN TRY AND JUSTIFY FIRING ME ON ONE CALL IN FOR ONE SHIFT, AFTER 2 AND 1/2 YEARS OF SERVICE RECORD??I even challenged what they were trying to tell the judge because They had several facts in correct....First They said i had a history of being late, write ups or diciplinary actions to try and say i wasn't the best employee!!??....I had been one of the Few who actually did their job..I felt compelled to always say yes to their demands to take extra shifts, 16 hour, 18 hour, and a few 20 hour shifts....I did everything they told me, I gave in to their intimidations every time....I had on had between 1-3 Write ups my Entire record in The Company....._---I know becuase who ever writes you up makes you sign a copy--One for Being Late, One for Uniform cause i for got the Name Tag or something, and Little things like that....And this lady, Who i guess became the new scheduler, said that she talked to me on the phone when i was discharged...In actuality, I had only talked to the Dispatcher who had called to see what was wrong, why i called in, and said That i really needed to Get there or else I was Fired...That is actually the last Time I spoke with anyone from Securitas. I never spoke to this scheduler who said she Fired me Over the Phone....Plus they had Added several "FALSE" write ups to my Record By the time of the Court Hearing...I was not expecting any of this and IF I WOULD HAVE HAD A LAWYER I MIGHT OF BEEN OK.....NeedLess to say, BIG COMPANY SECURITAS WON, I WAS DENIED UN EMPLOYMENT, AM BROKE, APPLYING FOR AS MANY JOBS AS I CAN, HAD TO LEAVE COLLEGE, AND BARELY HAVE A PLACE TO LIVE, HAVE TO SAY WITH A FRIEND FOR NOW...I ASK MYSELF THIS SIMPLY QUESTION...."Why would a Business as large as Securitas.....as Profitable and wide spread as them, who cut corners, violate laws and policies to make extra money....who let employees and managers who Majorly f**k Up Keep their jobs or just be transfered...While Good-Hard Working Employees who Lodge a complaint, Report Abuse, or ask questions are the Ones who Get Dismissed.......When They are getting over in so many other ways, Why the Hell Would they need to Go Out and Put up All Kinds Of extra effort to make sure that they block every single unemployment claim involving them when They know they WERE IN THE WRONG IN THE FIRST PLACE???!!!?...IF I HAD THE FORESIGHT WHEN I FIRST STARTED WORKING FOR THEM TO KEEP A COPY OF ALL THE CONTRACTS, MEMO'S THEY SENT OUT, CONVERSATIONS WITH MY SITE SUPERVISOR, BRANCH MANAGERS, AND ANYONE ELSE WITH IN THE COMPANY WHO I SPOKE WITH, WAS TRAINED BY, OR TALKED TO, i WOULD HAVE ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO BRING ALL KIND OF LAWSUITS AGAINST THE COMPANY.....THE CORRUPTION SEEMS TO BE SOOOO WIDESPREAD AND "ROUTINE" THAT IT WOULD BE HARD FOR THEM TO KEEP IT SECRET FOR MUCH LONGER...ESPECIALLY AS ALL OF THE PEOPLE START TO COME FORWARD..............................mY lARGEST rEGRET WAS THAT THE ENTIRE TIME I WORKED FOR THEM I JUST GRIT MY TEETH AND ENDURED ALL OF THE ABUSE THAT WAS THROWN AT ME....AT ONE POINT I WAS WORKING ABOUT 60 HOURS A WEEK AND STILL GETTING CALLS FROM DISPATCH WHEN I AM JUST ABOUT TO GET OFF OF A 18 HOUR SHIFT..."I KNOW YOU WORKED ALL NIGHT IN SOUTH SACRAMENTO....BUT CAN YOU PLEASE DRIVE ALL THE WAY TO NATOMAS AND COVER A 5 HOUR SHIFT OVER THERE......THE f**kED UP PART IS THAT SINCE IT WAS TWO DIFFERENT SITES, THEY USED LOOP hOLES SO THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY DOUBLE Over TIME....PLUS THE PLACE THEY SENT ME HAPPENS TO BE A MIN WAGE SITE AND THERFORE HALF OF WHAT MY PERMANENT SITE WOULD PAY, PLUS I HAD TO DRIVE OVER THERE.....i MEAN I PUT UP WITH THEIR s**t AND THEY STILL SCREWED ME.....
NOW HERE GOES MY BIGGEST REALIZATION THAT I RECENTLY THOUGHT OF....THIS WHOLE TIME SECURITAS HAS BEEN TRYING TO BLOCK MY UNEMPLOYMENT.....i HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR JOBS AND POSTING MY RESUME FOR AWHILE NOW WITH OUT TOO MANY RESULTS.....I JUST REALIZED THAT maybe securitas is even bad mouthing me when Prospective jobs are calling to Verify my Previous Employment.....I just have nothing to say to that.......That just seems beyond EVIL to me..HOW CAN YOU f**k WITH A PERSON THE WHOLE TIME THEY WORK FOR YOU, FIRE THEM, FORCE THEM TO QUIT, WHATEVER....AND THEN LIE AND DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO BLOCK THEIR EMPLOYMENT AND tRASH TALK THEM SO THEY CANT GET ANOTHER JOB???? HOW CAN THE CITY, THE STATE, THE EMPLOYMENT DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT, THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ALLOW ALL OF THIS TI STILL BE GOING ON........TEN OR MORE YEARS AFTER THE FIRST PEOPLE STARTED COMING FORWARD ABOUT THEIR UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES....AND FROM WHAT I CAN TELL, ALL THE LAWSUITS BROUGHT AGAINST THEM ARE USUALLY JUST SETTLED WITH OUT SECURITAS ACCEPTING GUILT OR RESPONSIBILITY...
ALL I HAVE LEFT TO SAY IS THAT WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY HAS f**kED UP MY WHOLE COLLEGE EXPERIENCE THESE LAST FEW YEARS, PUT ME THROUGH ALL KINDS OF STRESS, AND WORRY, AND I HAVE BEEN BLOCKED FROM UNEMPLOYMENT AND AT THE SAME TIME CAN'T FIND EMPLOYMENT....WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO???

IT WAS MESSED UP LONG BEFORE IT BECAME SECURITAS AND THAT IS WHAT HAPPENED WHEN THE COMPANY FROM SWEDEN CALLED SECURITAS CAME IN AND BOUGHT UP A WHOLE LOT OF POORLY MANAGED AND BADLY RUN SECURITY COMPANIES AND I COULD HARDLY WAIT TO GO TO WORK FOR THEM BECAUSE I FIGURED THAT THEY WOULD GET IN EUROPEAN RIGHTS AND BENEFITS FOR THE EMPLOYEES AND THEY HAD GREAT, EASY CARE, PROFESSIONAL MILITARY QUALITY STYLE UNIFORMS.
I FIGURED THAT THEY WOULD ALSO BE MORE EFFICIENT BECAUSE ANYTHING WOULD BE BETTER THAN WHAT THESE INDIVIDUAL **** UP COMPANYS WERE.
