Securitas Security USA, Account Manager And Most Security Officers Supervisor's don't back you up, they let you down. Ripoff Signal Hill California
Well I'm still a security officer for Securitas but have witnessed many under-handed and disrespectful things going on in the couple of months I have been there.
Let me give you an example of one of the many things going on at this particular post. Like I said, I have been there for a couple of months and most security officers are nice... in the beginning. (You'll find 99% are two-faced)
One day I was working at a post that required two officers. Well everything was going fine until s/o Rivera started to listen to the radio real loud, having no consideration for me or our client's employees being there. But what really set things off was the type of radio talk show he was listening to. The one where it's all topics of a sexual nature. Yes, I am a female officer. Now you can imagine my suprise when he just sat there and laughed when I mentioned to him that I was finding that very offensive and if he could turn it off or change it.
I couldn't believe the next thing that came out of his mouth. "This is a man's gate.... You don't belong here and I'm not changing my way for you". Well, I never had a problem with him or anyone else, so I did report it to my supervisor. Same thing was told to me as in most of these previous reports I have read, It was going to be taken care of. I actually believed it!!!
Some days later it seems as though nothing changed, then the supervisor came in and said we could no longer have a radio in the post. Boy was Rivera mad. He started telling my supervisor that I stare at him and I was always making him feel uncomfortable. He said that I yelled at him, cussed him out and was always picking on him. Come on, grow up!!
Rivera brought in another radio and the issue continued. My supervisor got upset that I was complaining and finally warned me that if I continue to start things I would be sent back to branch so they can deal with it. Unbelievable. I thought sexual harrassment was a major thing for this company. That's not all.
To this day I continue to work with Rivera, now keeping quiet (that's not right, but I fear to lose my job) and he continues to be disrespectful, even to another female officer, who happens to be our supervisor. I have heard her telling Rivera about his work habits and he lashes back at her saying she doesn't scare him and that she can't get him in trouble. What is it? Favortism. I know the other supervisor's know about this stuff going on, not just with this particular guard, but others as well. Sexual discrimination? There is no backup from these male supervisors and it is not right.
I am not a mean person, but if I were, maybe a lawsuit will make them open their eyes and maybe it won't fall on deaf ears.

Ethnic and Sexual Bias
#3UPDATE EX-employee responds
Thu, July 03, 2008
If you worked out of the Signal Hill office, you are likely the victim of the ethnic and sexual bias that pervades that office and the Torrance branch. As they seem to work hand-in-hand, and have relatives working out of both branches, and the surname you provided is Spanish, I suspect this is the problem.
Latino culture is overtly sexist and these attitudes are supported by the area vice-president, David Ricks, who hand picks many of the Latino employees working under his jurisdiction.
Whatever you do, do not keep quiet about your treatment. Report it to the Labor Board and the Department of Fair Employment and Housing. This company continues to get away with unethical and illegal treatment of employees because people are silent for fear of losing their jobs. You should not have to suffer disrespect just to earn a living. They will never stop mistreating people unless their actions are widely known to the agencies that can help us bring them down.
Contact Kellen Smith, Senior Employee Relations Representative, Employee Relations Department, Securitas Security Services USA, Inc., 4330 Park Terrace Drive, Westlake Village, CA 91361. Telephone: 818.706.6800 Fax: 818.706.5037
Tell anyone else that you know is suffering mistreatment to contact this office to report their problems. Don't accept mistreatment. It is illegal, unethical, and immoral.

Somebody needs to bring a small tape recorder to work and tape this Officer Wonderful making rude remarks at you and at the lady supervisor.
Before you tape this guy, better check your rules of evidence laws. In Texas, only ONE person has to know that the conversation is being tape recorded! Might be different where you are.
Make SURE this tape is clear and distinct because it might help you win a lawsuit for a LOT of money!
Because of the culture of machismo values, he isprobably going to keep dissing women colleagues and supervisors. There are some religions claiming to be Christians that think it is "anti-Scriptural" for women to be the supervisors of men too. And we ALL know what the TALIBAN thinks of women!
You should know that you won't get a fair hearing at your branch office so you need to go to the CORPORATE EEOC, the federal EEOC, the State Human Rights Commission and the city human rights commission if you have one.
File reports with all of them BUT you list the main corporate office in SWEDEN as the employers' address, that is the BIG ONE! Because what CORPORATE says GOES. (Be sure to put out some resumes and start job shopping before THIS BOMB blow up!)
I am not sure that justice will be served but I have done it several times ( nothing was done FOR me) BUT...
Heads rolled! Abusers were terminated.
New people were hired. I guess they were the same as the previous ones except I asn't there to have to deal with these new screw-ups. Security officers are interchangeable and disposable to most security companies --especially the BIG ones!
The ones who got fired were the ones who had wronged me?
Corporate does NOT want attention being spotlighted on their operation! Especially a multinational corporation.
Well, they were blacklisted and generally considered unhireable. They got job references from hell --well-earned ones this time! And I guess they had to go out and get real jobs!
Good luck.
See, Private Security Companies really are SEXIST!
