I receive a call from one, Ms. Billings, saying, 'would you like to come in for an interview' tomorrow (April 11, 2013) to which, I feel great as if the Lord has heard my prayer for a job.  I say yes, at 10 am and I am asked to bring along $ 80 as a processing fee, just in case I get selected.  What is this processing fee all about, I am yet to discover.  Top class drama I must say, because no one is rejected, everyone is selected.  Next step, every candidate out there is assigned an interviewer who then on the pretext of some training or the other, is asked to complete ONLY to get that training money/fee deposited somehow.  In my case I was interviewed by one Mr. Curtis Michaels, selected of course, and then asked to make a deposit of $ 249.00 to undertake a fire guard training (absolutely no significance for a mere security guard).  But then I am assured a starting salary @ 13.75 an hour starting the day I complete my training.  Obviously I rushed with the training so I could start ASAP, being without a job for quite sometime.

On completion of the fire guard training (a mere 3 hr. insignificant class and nothing of the sort is covered as is supposed to be by MetroTech, Fire Dept.), since I have previously done a fire guard licence exam.  I am directed to report back to Security Elite Group office, presuming now I should get my schedule since I have been asked to report in my business attire.  But now there is a completely different turn.  I am directed to some placement coordinator, RJ Tyler, who, types around something on his laptop, and finally hands me over two papers for two (2) different locations that I am supposed to go and try getting employment with.  The documents I am supposed to carry alongwith me mentions everything, but the fire guard certificate/license, which had already given me that creepy feeling that things are not right and for what I was made to believe and understand.  I leave SEG office and call the H.R. departments of the two locations that were given to me by RJ Tyler only to learn that, one location was not the hiring agency and not even paying more than $ 7.50 an hour.  The other agency had no locations except in a store, that too in Staten Island and they were paying the same, $ 7.25 an hour.  On calling back SEG, Curtis Michaels POINT BLANKLY DENIES, thereby LIES, that I was not promised a job in the Financial District, @ 13.75 at any time.  What else can I say except that I was made to waste my TIME, HARD EARNED MONEY, PEACE OF MIND, HAPPINESS, OPPORTUNITY  and the rest you just name it.  Can someone ask "am I or would I be a fool or out-of-mind unemployed guy to drain down $ 249.00 if there was nothing in the offing, such as @ 13.75 an hour.  Everyone knows you don't need to go for these SCAMS for these low paid jobs are available in plenty in the marked who pay the minimum of $ 7.25 an hour.

I ask and advice everyone seeking employment in the security market to do every research possible before shelling out even a cent if you are asked or supposed to pay for any training.  I have worked in security for almost eight (8) years and I know one thing for sure NO legitimate security hiring company will ask or demand for any money.  I for the first time (just got lured by the 13.75 figure).

People are right, you don't see the normal stuff when you enter someone' office in a security office (filing cabinets, files, receptionist's most important telephone, just nothing of that kind) so just be careful.  Thank you but I am not going to remain quiet  -  I will get my money out.
