Security Remodeling ripoff, does lousy work, not as described, hides bad work under caps, not plum or level Odenton Maryland

I contracted Security Remodeling for exterior siding replacement. I paid them an extra $2500. to do the garage door, and hang new gutters that are level and filled with water.

The frame around the garage door had to be replaced and is not level or plum, and has been exaserbated to make condition look worse then it really is. The siding mechanic shimmed the door frame the wrong way and installed the frame sloppily.

I contacted Security Remodeling and was told that only one year workmanship is warranted, and was told that even if the siding falls off the house it is not covered. Wells it's been a couple of years, and I'm getting sick of being abused.

They have hidden their ridulous work under an aluminum cap around the inside door frame. When I called the office while they were doing work here I was told out of state for sick mother, and Asian workers didn't speak english.

This is a rip-off outfit I contracted for hail damage, and the insurance company paid off the rest for bruised shingles and hail scuff marks on siding. Security Remodeling always has an excuse for belittling homeowners and doing pure bull crap work.

I will post pictures addressing this abombination under picture update. Security Remodeling is one of those storm chasing outfitters praying for hail damage and came door to door in my community.

Saying NO isn't enough with them, you've got to be standing behind them every step of the way. Which I say is to much too expect from home owners. It's no surprise they turned around on me and won't give me what I need. Believe in me!

Dear David:

This may be too little too late, as I am new to this site. I hope you receive this info. I was very sad to hear how you were "ripped off".

Here is some info to help you fight these "bad apples". Maryland is one of the lucky states that actually has a home improvement commission that governs home improvement contractors...

the movie "Tin Men"... early 80's... Danny Divito starred in... great movie... ck it out... movie was the true story of the creation of M.H.I.C... Maryland Home Improvement Commission.... because of how so many consumers were being ripped off by home improvement contractors... when aluminum siding was just making it big... hence the name "Tin Men"... that's what they were called back in the 50's.....

They have a great website too. their # is 410-230-6309. There is a guaranty fund established for every licensed contractor and you can file a claim against them... even if they filed bankruptcy... I think so anyway....

they really try to protect the homeowner in Maryland... wish we had one here in PA... I recently moved here and found out the hard way that there is no such commission here to protect consumers.

I believe the statute of limits may be 3 years... so call them and I am positive you will be glad you did. Hope you get it resolved soon. Take care, Deb

I have both inside and out side pictures. Please post them here. Notice the inside shim that exaserbates the lean in the top of garage door.
