My husband and I had purchased a timeshare in Sedona, Arizona at the resort of Sedona Pines in June of 1999. As of today May 7, 2001, my husband and I have NOT been able to stay at the timeshare that we pay over $60.00 a month for, plus the yearly maintainance fees we have paid.

The reason we have not been able to use this timeshare...."No Availability." We have had this timeshare for almost two years and have called at least once or twice a month to go stay and are told there is no availability and to call back on Monday. We have to call at least fourteen days in advance, which we have done, and still everytime we call, we cannot use it. I have called and spoke to the owner, Diane Laws, who tells us they are still in construction mode, after two years, and that is why there is little availability.

She also mentioned that we would probably have a really hard time coming up on the weekends, that we should try to come up during the week. We were not advised upon purchasing this scam of a timeshare, that we would not be able to come up on weekends or that we would have a hard time even getting in, EVER. My husband and I have tried to sell it back to the company and they are not accepting it at this time, of course. We feel that we have purchased something that we will never be able to go and enjoy anytime in the future.
Thank You,
Shelley Barnes

I’ve heard so many horror stories about timeshares. They are just way too expensive for what you get. And I personally wouldn’t want to visit the same place enough times to have the cost match the value. It just doesn’t add up for me.. I think you'll be interested to read this article from Mexican Timeshare Solutions on how to get out of a timeshare scam, hope this helps:
