I signed up for a deal with this company in early December of 2005. In return for 60 months subscription to Rolling Stone magazine, a years subscription to three other magazines, and a $1000 shopping spree from an online store I would pay 15 payments of $33.73. The Rolling Stone didn't arrive for four months, only one of the other magazines was ever delivered, and stopped in less than a year, and the Rolling Stone subscription stopped after just a year instead of the 60 months promised. I admit that I'm lax sometimes when it comes to bills so I didn't notice until recently and add it all together. Now the company has charged my account 23 times total, sometimes twice a month. There is one instance where they refunded the charge, but they still charged me again for that month. The one time I talked to anyone, I was threatened with a lawsuit when I commented that I should have cancelled my account earlier. The man I talked to said that I had signed a contract and I'd lose everything if I didn't pay up. But I never signed a contract. I verbally gave them my credit card number, and verbally agreed to a certain number of payments in return for certain services. I never recieved all that I was promised, and they're still charging me. I called today at 4:15 eastern time to inquire about this and was immediately transferred to a supervisor and told that "Judy" was already gone for the day and she was the only one able to access the account records in order to answer any of my questions.
Oh, and the "shopping spree"...it was great if you don't mind paying over $200 in shipping and handling for less than $700 worth of merchandise. And no the shopping spree gift certificate doesn't apply to the shipping and handling.
In short, if there's anyone already sueing these guys and wants help let me know!
