Complaint Review: Select Portfolio Services

Select Portfolio Services Another person scammed by SPS! While attempting an solution with Chase, which was going well, they sold off my account to theses blood sucking scumbags. I had an extreme, but temporary, drop in my income. SPS says they will work with me, and put a stay on foreclosure. I found out in mid October, from my insurance agent, that they had proceeded on with the foreclosure AND sold my house at auction in AUGUST! No notice to me, or my attorney. Much more to the story after that.. Salt Lake Utah

When these creeps took over my loan, they sent me a letter stating how much they wanted to work with me..blah blah.. and had even assigned my a personal representative. I called and called, but NEVER had a conversation with this person. Probably never existed. I found out that they had gone ahead with the foreclosure (in August) when my home insurance agent called me in mid October, to tell me that she recieved a call from somebody in Salt Lake instructing her to drop the policy! They continued to send me regular monthly mortgage statements up to Oct of 2013. When I finally got ahold of an idiot in Salt Lake, they told me that since I had told them in the past that I had an attorney, they were not allowed to talk to me. But, they did not notify my attorney either! To which they said "Oh, well". I had given them his contact info as soon as I found out that Chase had sold my loan off to these vampires. At that time, I gave them permission to contact him or me at any time! interesting, because I had a number of conversations with them after this fact. Then they filed eviction orders. I was not served until after this phone call! We went to court, and which time I told them that my fiancee wanted to purchase the house. The judge asked their attorney if that would be possible. I told them what we would offer. The attorney came back in after stepping out to make a call to her client. She said that would be acceptable, because the balance owed was only a few thousand dollars off, at 237k. At that point the judge ordered that the eviction was off for 7 weeks, while we got the financing, and made them an offer. Meanwhile, she instructed everyone to "Play Nice". We made the offer, and waited for their response. On the day that the deadline was due at 5pm, the county sheriff shows up at 1:00, with a crew to throw us and our things out the door! When he clearly saw my complete look of shock, he quickly realized that it was not right. He called it off by saying that the law firm had not sent enough people, since the house is quite large and packed to the gills. He later told me that he hates dealing with this particular firm, because they pull this crap frequently. Totally heartless, and souless. Well, to make a long story short, they turned down this offer, as well as two more, upping the price by over 40k. They had hired a broker who was convinced that the house was worth about 335k. BUT! she had never seen it, had never been in the neighborhood at all. It is a rural area which is in a zip code that has everything from a single wide dumpy trailer, up to a half million dollars. This house is not worth a dime more than 235k, due to extensive repairs needed, and the drop in value of the whole neighborhood. To sum up, I had to move out under extreme stress and horrendous circumstances. Now, I am living in a hotel, and spending a ton of money on this, but also ver 1700 bucks a month for storage. The cost of trucks, labor, and boxes pretty much ate up our 10k down payment. I have been very ill a number of times over the last 3 years, and have had numerous surgeries, so I was unable to do any of the heavy work, so I had to pay outside companies. The financial short fall I had prior to this mess has now been completely resolved, I came out the victor! Which now feels pretty d**n hollow in the wake of all of this. Tremendous emotional, and physical expense as well. We need to take these bastards DOWN! Lets get a class action suit going! Oh, and as a side note, just in the past week, Fannie Mae fired the Castle Firm, as well as Aronowitz and Mecklenberg from doing any of it's foreclosure and eviction work! Freddie Mac is expected to do the same shortly.
