Complaint Review: Select Portfolio Servicing aka Fairbanks Capita

The company attempted to foreclose on "minimal" delinquent charges. We paid those charges to keep it out of foreclosure.

Two months later, we received a statement that showed "other charges" in excess of $1100.00. The are refusing to give us an itemized list of what these charges consist of. The only explanation we get is charges paid on our behalf. (???)

Another problem is our homeowners insurance. Our insurance agent sends Fairbanks a renewal notice each time the policy is renewed, but we are still charged insurance that Fairbanks purchased for us. Several notices have been sent, via mail and fax, and they stil have problems getting our account straight.

We are also getting outrageous late charges, sometimes up to $60.00!
