Hurricane Isabel on 9/18/2003 damaged this 12 story hotel in Petersburg, Va. Claimant filed damages in total of approximately $9.2 million. Selective Insurance approved approximately $420,000 and did not even pay the remaining $35,000. They are claiming fraudulent misrepresentation on the part of claimant and we have been in litigation for seven years. This is a classic case of what an insurance company will resort to in order to avoid a catastrophic claim. The national field adjustor and a vice president of Selective made critical decisions immediately after the hurricane to remove the water extraction and mold remediation company from the premises by refusing to pay them. They subsequently had their SIU fraud department issue a report on the company.

The SIU report exonerated the water extraction company; and the Selective employees conspired to cover up all the facts surrounding the report, including stating that it does not exist. Both of these Selective employees have been deposed. The national field adjustor perjured himself 15 times; and his boss, the vice president perjured himself 3 times. In addition, the Selective attorney went on record during the depositions and perjured himself 7 times. All three individuals have since been fired by Selective. We have the SIU fraud report and all the evidence surrounding these facts. Selective filed a counterclaim against the claimant which is filled with fabrication and fraudulent claims. They have done everything possible to keep this case from going to trial. Selective had a set plan pattern from day one and it has elevated to criminal levels.

Please investigate this case so this will not happen to other people. Please be advised that the information above and the information I have emailed to you in a separate file is only the tip of the iceberg (50%) when it comes to conspiracy & fraud on the part of Selective Insurance in this case!
