selfhelp.com mysterious unauthorized debit from my checkcard allegedly associated with my Bromalite trial order Internet

After ordering and canceling a trial subscription to Bromalite, I noticed a mysterious unauthorized debit to my checkcard that I had used to order the Bromalite with. I had canceled the Bromalite order within the trial period and gotten a confirmation number for the cancelation. When I saw the selfhelp.com debit from my checkcard, I called Bromalite to ask if this was in association with my Bromalite order. I was told by them that they used to be associated with selfhelp.com, but no longer are and were unaware of how selfhelp.com got my card information to charge me a subscription to their company as well. The Bromalite representative told me that other people had told her the same thing happened to them and she gave me the customer service phone number (877-495-1182) to selfhelp.com. I called that number and got a selfhelp.com representative who told me that the charge to my card was for a monthly subscription to their company and that it was initiated when I ordered my trial of Bromalite. The representative said that the trial period had passed and I would not be refunded the subscription charged to my checkcard. I told the representative that I did not see any information anywhere about a subscription to selfhelp.com, nor any information about cancelling such a subscription and that I was going to report it to the Federal Trade Commission, because it appears to be fraud. I had not given them any of my information at any time. The representative then told me that I would be refunded the money, that my subscription would be cancelled, and gave me a confirmation number. The representative told me that the refund may show up on next month's statement. I called Bromalite back to tell them about my experience when I talked to selfhelp.com and their allegation of being associated with my ordering from Bromalite. They took my information along with recording the conversation to submit it to one of their managers for investigation. Bromalite thanked me for letting them know that this had happened.

I also went to www.selfhelp.com on the Internet and saw a generic looking website, like a placeholder kind of site with no company or contact information on it anywhere. Very bogus and fraudulent appearance. Beware!
