SEM Value Plus Continuity/Subscription Merchants Fraud withdrawal from credit card Internet, Minnesota
SEM, Value plus membership services has been charging my credit card sinceApril 20,2010. Due to a string of personal family illness, I just paid my bills and did not go over charges until now. $24.95 addes up fast when you don't have a job and illness prevents you from doing everyday tasks.
I am aware of such companies that attach themselves to a card, just as they attach themselves to phone bills.
The month prior I purchased a book from an infomercial, and was wondering if anyone else bought the "Free Money Book" the month before their fraud began? I am not accusing, just wondering if the two could be related.
I do not just give out my information to anyone.
I also found it strange that when you call the number on the bank statement, the recording automaticaly sends you to the www.programstop.comwebsite. This is a sure fire sign of fraud.
You can bet I will be at my Credit Union tomorrow with all my information, and the ripoff website address in hand!

Yes, when you buy the free money book, at the end, like on almost All TV infomercials, they offer you Affinities, what they call it. they are all ftc compliant, so it is not fraud. But most callers don't listen... they offer you a $ 50 walmart gift card voucher, you mail in the get it, in exchange to try Value Plus out for 30 days, if you don't want to get charged the monthly fee you have to call in and cancel. It is mentioned in the offer several times, you even have to repeat your credit card number, or the last 4 numbers of the credit card, or enter # on the keypad to verify. this offer is legit, but they are preying on callers not "hearing" what is offered, not paying attention, but it is compliant iwth the FTC. So basically it falls back on to the caller/consumer, saying it is your fault for 1. accepting, 2. for not calling to cancel if you checked out the welcome kit and decided not to call in and cancel.
