Advertised top quality Airedale puppies from top line Champions- this was not the case. Dogs bred are NOT show quality, and have significant flaws. Puppies priced at 1100, and we were first reservation. She lied, and did not let us choose our puppy. Puppy found to be infested with Coccidia, meaning whole kennel likely infected. Easdale kennel did not respond to our warnings of this, or respond to us after puppy purchase. Kennel is not clean, and dogs are dirty and stink.

If you are looking for a quality professional Airedale breeder, look elsewhere.

Fabrications and Revenge....for what?

#8REBUTTAL Individual responds

Tue, July 25, 2017

The buyer has registered ownership with the American Kennel Club and named the puppy, thereby accepting the purchase and likewise, refusing to return the puppy for a full refund when contacted. Further let me say that if this starts to spiral in to a mud throwing contest, I will not particiapate with any other postingss as my excellent record in Airedales for 40 years is established and fully recognized in official circles.

First note the time of the complaint. The buyer of our puppy had just gotten off the phone with a police officer after being advised that they must pay for the puppy they purchased as agreed with a signed written Bill of Sale OR a Fraud/Theft case would be opened with the county prosecuter. At this time, a credit card payment was finally given over the phone. Let's break down the accusations.

The first line: OK, how does one define a "Top Line Champion?" It is not a term of my making.... But moving past that, the sire of this puppy is CH Seneca Minnesota Razzle CDX RE AXP AJP (OFA Good) who earned his second major at the Wisconsin Airedale Terrier Club Specialty show to finish. Further, he has appeared in the top five obedience and agility Airedales in the country for several years; Google his name if you don't believe me. Granted, the dam Seneca Ariana Merci is not a finished Champion (although she embodies the breed standard to a degree that indicates she is finishable) though her parents were AKC Champions, all three OFA Certified Good. Neither was Bengal Chippenhey Fircone who produced the famous "F" litter of Champions including International CH Jokyl Bengal Figaro who is an ancestor of this puppy. Should no female who has not finished a championship ever be bred? There are CH females who have failed to ever produce even one puppy of note. Seneca Airedales have produced over 150 AKC titles with many more in service work (six Hearing Assistance and 8 Search and Rescue) and more in non-AKC sports.

Next: Aside from the Championship titles above, of what show events are we speaking? The puppy was not presented as a show prospect nor did the buyer indicate interest in showing. Of what flaws are we speaking? Yet, the half brother to this puppy currently graces the cover of the June/July issue of GUNDOG Magazine and has just earned his Sr Master Hunter title. Another of our breeding is featured in the article. His other half brother is  Champion Seneca The New Jack OFA Good.

And now: This has never been mentioned before. It is our price from some period of years ago and the correct price is now $1400. If this was a misunderstanding, why did the buyer complete the sale, pay for the puppy (which payment was later contested) and sign the Bill of Sale, clearly stating the price in writing?

Followed by: Why yes, they were first in line and also last. There was but one male puppy in this litter and they indicated that a male was wanted. How I am supposed to offer a choice of puppies when there is only one is totally beyond me.

Finishing up with: Again, a totally new and previously never mentioned accusation. No warnings or calls to us were ever made and I have a Usage Activity report from our Verizon serice backs this up. I do believe this is just thrown in to copy from another complaint from someone who did not even buy a puppy from me and who did not ever visit my location. Likewise, the buyer of this puppy did not tour our place or even see my private areas where I live and sleep. As to dirty, my dogs are allowed to romp and play and then I wash and groom them. Their coats are trimmed every three months if not more often.

The parting shot: Very few Airedale breeders have generations of OFA Certified hip ratings, multiple titles in many areas of dog sports, and 10 generations of excellence. Sorry that you had to pay for the puppy you purchased and registered, but that is only fair--and legal.

She is a PUPPY MILL. Litter after litter, and the original report is my direct experience. If you think it's okay to churn out multiple litters like this when 1.4 million healthy dogs are killed in shelters annually then you are part of the problem too. My parents wanted an airedale- so theirs was the first reservation. They were not allowed a choice as promised and all the report is TRUE.

Drove to Akron from Columbus to meet the puppy and deposit $200.  (at this time, the AKC registration should have already been in process).

A month later, puppy was ready so I drove up again for the remaining $1200.  No AKC papers - only excuses that they were "held up".

Being a business person, I offered partial payment of $1000 and would pay the remaining $200 upon receiving AKC.  She said "NO, I don't let any dogs go without full payment".  Tried to discuss the "business transaction" and how I was holding up my end of the bargain in return for all that was promised to me.  Still nothing except her comment, "Well, if you don't want to take the puppy, i understand - I'll refund you your $200 deposit."

She was not budging so being a good person and hoping for the best from others, I trusted that she would follow through.

That was on June 4th, 2017 and today's date is July 6th - over 1 month later.  No calls, no emails to me and no answer from her (Nancy's) end either.

I called AKC and they gave me a customer support email to send in my complaint to try and help.  If anyone else is in the predicament - it's

CustomerRegistrationSupport@akc.org

I will continue to other sites to let people know.

I have been in contact with and have followed Nancy for many years and have wanted one of her dogs foe 15 years. I went to easdale on very short notice to see her dogs and puppy she had available. This place is awesome with great facilities and clean. Purchased a 10 week old female airedale from her and this little girl is fabulous. Bloodlines/pedigrees are amazing with many quality, titled dogs with great records! I only wish i would be able to have more of them!

Quality Airedales at Seneca

#8Consumer Comment

Tue, May 01, 2012

I have purchased quality Airedale Terriers from Seneca for over 25 years. I  have had many top quality show dogs and pets none with health problems.I know for a fact that all puppies are temperment tested and placed in homes according to their personalities. I have let them choose puppies for me and have never been disappointed!  I have stopped in un-announced on many occasions and found Easdale Kennel to be clean and the dogs well cared for. I do not know where this person gets their information as this is a great kennel with well bred and healthy dogs. Generations of Seneca Airedales are listed in Airedale History for their Conformation, Obedience, Agility, and Tracking accomplishments. Seems to me someone is just being nasty with nothing to base it on!

Easdale Kennels

I have taken my Airedale Terriers to Nancy Secrist for grooming since 2004. Nancy has done a beautiful job every time.  Dogs must have their current shots and vaccinations in order to be groomed.  My dogs have never even come home with a single flea.

The Kennels are clean, and the surrounding grounds and outdoor kennels are cleaned and very well kept. I have seen all areas of the kennels including the whelping areas. They have always been clean, and there has been no significant odor.

Nancy has allowed me to see, and play with the new puppies on numerous occasions. They were all very happy, healthy, typical Airedales.  One of my Airedales is a Seneca Airedale, she is beautiful, and very well tempered. She is also a champion.

Nancy is very knowledgeable in every aspect of her business.  She is experienced, and most definitely an animal lover. I am positive she would never mislead anyone about any of her puppies, or sell a sick animal. Nancy wants her puppies to be healthy, and to have happy homes. Seneca Airedales are high quality, and Nancy has years of experience.

Seneca Airedales

Our experience with Seneca was very different from that of the person filing the complaint.   We have a 5 month old puppy purchased at the kennel.  We also paid $1100.  We were given a choice of 6 female puppies.   We never asked for a show-quality puppy, nor did the kennel make any promises.  We didn't see any AKC disqualifying problems with the pups. We based our choice on the pup's pedigree which had a strong representation of performance dogs, which is our interest. We were able to "meet" both the father and mother on a moments notice.  Both were healthy-looking clean dogs.  All the pups were clean and lively.  Our vet verified that our pup was, in fact, very healthy and strong.   We were satisfied with the whole process.
