I hired Service Star Realty for over a year to manage one of my properties. I would not use them again since they are not good at what they do. (I'm being nice).

First of all, they have started to add additional fees on top of your month fee. One fee is for 'eviction proceedings" even if you don't have an eviction. So that money goes to their pocket and is not given back to the owner at the end of the year.

Also - They are not very good at customer service or responsiveness to their property owners. Some emails have gone unanswered or ignored.

Lastly, I have an issue with their ability to take accountability of their mistakes. Upon given explicit instructions upon using a particular maintenance vendor, they chose not to and I as the property owner was billed for a charge which would not have happened if they used the vendor given to them.

Upon identifying they made a mistake, they have not taken any ownership or tried to come up with a solution. Like i said, bad customer service.

As i just fired them from their responsibilies as my property management, i wanted to share with you the final email I got from them.

" In closing I wanted to reiterate that unfortunately it was not clear how you communicated your warranty information to us in that short email last year. We need specifics, paperwork, time frames on warranty etc, normally we receive appropriate documentation from our owners as well as they fill in our questionnaire at the onset of management. Had it been more clear in email or had it bed communicated to us when we you signed up for services, we could have avoided losses. "

So to sum it up, Service Star is now officially blaming me for their mistake. Neither Dora nor anyone at Service Star even responded or acknowledged that I sent an email requesting they use Company X for the warranty. I am not a mind reader. Since she never followed up with my original email stating they need to use the company i specified I assumed every thing was understood.
