Services Unlimited Plus deceptive ripoff company Glendale Arizona
On Oct 15 2002, a young man appeared at our door selling magazine subscriptions as a "fund raiser" for his college theater dept. Since many schools in the area were doing magazine sales, I thought it was legit and ordered one. My suspicions were raised when I saw the $10 "process and handling service charge" but I went ahead anyways, as he reassured me that I could cancel within 3 days and get a refund. Nothing felt right about this order...I did contact the school he mentioned and they were not participating in the magazine drive.
Since the receipt looked like it came from a real business, I sent a registered letter the next day requesting my refund and cancelling the subscription (within the 3 days as listed on the invoice). I then received a reply from Kate Clair, a customer service rep reassuring me that they would do that once they had my cancelled check.
So, a month later I sent in my cancelled check and my second refund request. As of Jan. 6, 2003 I've not received anything from this company and feel like I was completely scammed.
I have filed a BBB complaint, but I really have no hopes of getting the refund. If it's any reassurance, it was helpful to see that I wasn't the only one who fell for this ruse.
