Complaint Review: Services Unlimited Plus

A young kid came to my door saying he was from the next street over and the local soccer team was raising money for a trip to Brazil. He also said he'd mow yards for cheap to raise money for the trip. He seemed nice enough so I bought two magazines. When he filled out the form there was a $10 process fee he conveniently forgot to mention, which annoyed me. The checks were made out to SUP, Services Unlimited Plus. Then I asked for his phone number to call if I wanted my yard mowed. He gave an Arizona cell number claiming his sister lived there and had given him the phone. The name he gave was Joesph Keller.

Like an idiot I beleived him for about ten minutes till I put the pieces together of our conversation and relized he was a lying, piece of scum. I went over to the street and house where he claimed to live and confirmed he did not live there and that several people on hte street had given him cash in place of giving him magazine subscriptions for his supposed trip to Brazil.
I called the police and they were able to recover my checks. The police advised they were a van full of kids from Arizona swarming the area. They travel across the country telling these lies about supporting local groups. My neighbors were out there cash.

I may have gotten my magazines if I had allowed the transaction to proceed. But the lies told to get my order were certainly unethical, misleading and a RIP-OFF.
