Two weeks(Feb 7, 2009) after a frozen water pipe broke(Jan 19, 2009), Servpro was hired to abate water/mold damages to our property. They had to cut open most walls downstairs and remove all contaminated debris.

They never gave us a list of their charges in advance. They submitted a bill to our Insurance carrier for close to $10,000.00. They charged for "Emergency Service" which was 2 weeks after the incident happened (hardly an Emergency). They charged us $50.00 to move and reset stove and empty refrigerator. Never reset the appliances back. Left stove in living room. They left the refrigerator in the middle of kitchen. Left a mold contaminated kitchen counter top/sink in living room after they were both were supposedly remediated of mold. A few days after they were finished a white moldy substance grew back the entire living room floor. Servpro sent a man out who took an old dirty rag from his pocket and began wiping up the moldy substance which grew back again days afterwards.

Servpro refused to demo bath tub tiled wall. Only after my repeated demands and refusal to pay them did they demo the wall which was saturated with wet moldy insulation. They had the audacity to bill me another over $800.00 "emergency" fee and additional rental fee for bringing out 1 fan and a dehumidifier. This equipment was previously at property and should have been used to abate the bathroom wall initially with the rest of the house.

I refused to pay them until I had the house inspected for mold. One of their workers decided he would leave me a little present by defecating in the upstairs toilet knowing that the water has been shut off to the property for months. He made it a point to use an entire roll of toilet tissue clogging the toilet with tissue and feces. I'm surprised Servpro didn't charge me for this too.

Needless to say the house did not pass a Post Mold Remediation Inspection report. Servpro was sent a copy of the 18 page report certified mail and would not respond to me in writing EVER. Instead they filed a complaint against me in local district court.

I had to hire another company at great expense to finish the mold remediation Servpro started and billed me for.

Be forewarned that this company will be polite to you in the beginning and they will try to get you to sign a "Certificate of Satisfaction" quickly before you get a chance to truly evaluate their work & billing. DO NOT SIGN IT. They will get nasty if you complain and refuse to pay them until they correct the problem. They would rather take you to court then do a proper job according to their own industry standards.

Oh So You Are The GOOD Servpro, Not The Bad Servpro?

Ok so your only real defense is that ServPro is franshised and customers should beware because ServPro corporate doesn't do back ground checks on prospective franchisees? Or is it that ServPro won't stand behind their supposed "good name"? If those are the options I don't think I will take my chances and hope that the "good" ServPro shows up and not the "bad" ServPro.

Still useful report

I found this report to be useful. The part where the people refused to do needed work and attempted to charge extra was exactly what happened to me in another state. They took careful look at a nearby room but ignored a contaminated hallway. They did not clean the mold merely sprayed disinfectant and then blew mold all over with fans during drying. When our ins co asked for more air scrubbers because we were getting worse sick not better, they claimed our new illness was due to preexisting mold. The methods of scams should remain revealed to inform and protect the unwary. I wasn't suspicious until they tried to scam me for payment of money that I knew would be paid by the ins co any way. They waited till late at night to extort me with a bait and switch so classic I came straight here. If they are nice when they start but keep saying they don't know what will be covered they may be setting you up. Ok, so the new owner there is good. Fine. But others are still at risk and when you're sick from mold and looking at house damage some of these franchises think they can mess with you. Wrong.

To the readers:

Please pay attention to the date on this claim: This claim was written in 2009. Currently, we are in the year 2013. What does that mean to current clients? That t Servpro of Levittown is under NEW OWNERSHIP

What this means is that Servpro of Levittown operates no other way but ethically and appropriatly in ALL ASPECTS OF BUSINESS. They do everything with the highest level of customer service and professionalism. The new owner prides himself on helping customers and insurance companies to efficiently and effectively reduce claims.

Futhermore, an incident that is approaching four years old should bare no affect on todays operations because once again, there is a NEW OWNER currently in charge of all operations to ever last detail. Servpro of Levittown would sincerely appreciate your understanding that it does not want to be affiliated with any negativity that is not correlated with the current owner.
