My complaint is supposed to be brief, I feel that a proper complaint of any dealings with Servpro would be anything but brief. In short every possible way to wrong someone in need was done by Larry Tull of Servpro.

I flooded my home back in september of 2005. Called my insurance company and they sent out Servpro. They seemed to know what they were doing and the employees were nice. So I let them stay on to complete the renevation that needed to be done.

Questions on my behalf started arrising due to the fact that I thought $14,289.13 was to much to be charging for something that looked like it was $5,000.00. When asked why so much he said there was a mistake that his wife the accountant had done. A $6,592.51 dollar mistake. So I was upset with him and felt he was trying to rip me off. Told him to stop working on the house and to just bill me for what had been done. He stated in writing in a certain letter he would.

He Sent me an estimate which just had the totals for the work and emergency fees. He never sent me the real estimate that he had sent the insurance company.

When I received the check from him with the change for the work that had not been done it did not add up to the estimate he had personally sent me. So I did not cash the check because I felt if I was to cash it I was agreeing to the work he had done and to the total he was refunding.

The check itself was not cashed until I told him to send it back to me and I would refund him the money owed for the work done. Which was weird because the check was written out to myself, My ex-husband which had no idea what was going on and was nowhere near here, also to servpro. I asked him how he had cashed it he stated he had my athourity, but he did not have my ex-husbands athourity.

I did seek a lawyer but he was too expensive, and he told me that there was nothing much he could do. The insurance company doesn't care due to the fact that they paid out and they feel it's not their problem anymore. I contacted BBB and they did nothing if anything they made matters worse.

I had filed with them against servpro and for awhile they had the complaint against servpro then they closed it and attached the complaint to a new company that just so happened to be named to larry tull and was just created.

So not only did I get riped off by servpro but also BBB. It has been over a year now and tv stations in his area thinks it's not a good enough story and lawyers don't want to help.

Because the work was never completed living conditions are poor I have nails sticking out of the floor with no carpet. People and myself are continuously stepping on them. I cannot clean well upstairs so it's dusty everywhere. And the floor in my master bathroom is molding. Plus to top it off it flooded again about three months ago. Do to the fact that the work was never completed.

My main concern is that the amount that he was supposed to refund me after the "work" was completed (I use the term work very loosely) was inaccuate and leaves him pocketing over $1,000.00 of the money I need to completely restore my home.

The amounts are broken down simply below:

$14,289.13-----The amount the insurance company isued after $500.00 deductible.
-6,592.51------The amount he sent back cause of his "acountant's mistake"
$7,705.62------Real total----$6,592.28----his total
-1,423.10------"work" done to the house
_________
$6,282.52------Real total----$5,169.18----his total
-1,748.21------"Emergency"services---Done 5 days after the incident and it was scheduled
$4,534.31------Real total left----$3,420.97----Check he issued which has since been canceled

Difference of $1,113.34 which was pocketed by him.

It's been stressful and aggravating. So in the end he owes me $4,534.31.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
