I am a single mother, unemployed for over a year and desperate for work.  I believe I found this company on Career Builders advertising work.  If not Career Builders it was another job source.  I went to the web site and it really looked legit.  I signed up for the 30 day trial for $4.99.  Filled out all the information needed and I actually did get a couple of calls.  They were for samplers in my area.  Unfortunately I cannot stand for 7 hours a day due to back surgery, so I had to decline.  The other one just didn't sound legit to me.  I cancelled my account on the 29th day.  And lo and behold they attempted to charge my account anyway and the money was not there.  I received and email for johnathon@shadowshopper.com telling me as much but that I had 7 days to think about it.  It actually stated my card had been declined but they were giving me extra days to make it right or cancel.  You are suppose to follow a link and then you have options to have them automatically renew, cancel or something else, I can't remember.  It appeared that they did not cancel my account when I tried to. 

Today I go to my debit card site to make sure my unemployment check was there and there it was.... $99.00 charge.  No name just numbers.  So I investigated and found the numbers are their phone number.  I called and surprise surprise it is a recording basically telling you that you cannot contact them by phone, only email.  You are instructed to go to their website and email them.  What crap is that?

I called my debit card company and I have to wait 72 hours before they can do anything for me.  I am not sure if I will be able to recover the money, but I won't give up.  So as it stands now, no food for my family this week. 

I just went on their site and talked to Becky through liveperson and she said she cancelled my account and has issued a full refund to my account.  Let's hope that this is true, because it is still pending on my side and usually you can't do that until it goes through.  We'll see the outcome by Monday.
