Complaint Review: Shane Starkweather

He is lies about he entire life. He claims to be from Texas, a welder, truckdriver, horse shoer, helpful handy man, carpenter, loving, caring, carefree, happy go lucky studying to be a shoalin monk kind of guy. He is none of the above. He is a musician and knows martial arts and a great lover. He claims that all his scars are bullet or knife marks but they are not. He claims to have killed several people- who knows.

I lived with and opened a business with Shane Starkweather. He stole money from my purse and bank account. He lied to customers and borrowed thousands of dollars from me over a four year time period to create a business together that he tried to take with him when he left. He stole items out of my house. He did a lot of stupid things( like leaving a work truck on an icy slope without the parking brake on so that it rolloed into a tree) I bought tools that he took, tools he never used and left out to ruin. He claimed to love me and wanted to build a house and said he could fix anything. Four years later everything is torn apart, nothing finished.
The first two years were the best romantic relationship I ever had, then I started catching on to the lies and it became my worst nightmare of being suspicious but not being able to prove anything. He denies everything and blamed the missing money and broken items on my kids.
His brother told me he is from Michigan and never drove a truck or lived in Alabama(where he supposedly learned to play Harmonica) as a child. The scar on his head was from an automobil accident at age four, not a bullet. He started his stealing spree at age 17 and never finished school.

The last girlfriend he had before me was Cathy Dawn Estes from Abiline. She lost her kids and went into debt about 30,000 on her credit cards while he was with her.He was stopped by the police while physically fighting with her in Lago vista.

He was employed at a bed and breakfast when I met him. He got fired there (told me it was because we got caught sneaking into a room and that the owner had locked up his musical equipment and he needed to get it back) because the owner, Dusty Hall of Austin, suspected him(but couldn't prove it beyond a shadow of doubt)of stealing money from the register and jewelry. Shane convenced me to help him steal back his equiptment.He also took harmonicas that belonged to Joe West and a chainsaw,none of which belonged to him.

He worked for my neighbor Kim and Cary StDemond and took tools,and wrecked the work truck.They couldn't prove it.
He lived with "Tim" and took tools which I later saw him using(he said they belong to a friend)He couldn't prove it.

He lived with Blake Steiner(Austin) and helped him spend an inheritance. I first suspected him being bisexual at this time. He had told me he lived with gay men before, but I hadn't put 2 and 2 together until I saw how they acted. Blake bought him a truck for his tree trimming business and insurance. Shane dropped a big branch through the roof of Candice Hogan's rental house and Blake quit doing the business with him but continued to play music with Shane until Shane decided to quit and Blake's equiptment all got stolen. Shane said it was Blake's new wife that did it.

This is just what I know from the last few years and a little research. There is more to tell about what happened while he was living with me- like the porch he build for my next door neighbor that took him almost two years to finish and was not build like the original plan and sits lopsided. He charged $5000
for this and I am very lucky I am not in a lawsuit because the business and bank were in my name.

He now is a handy man and tree trimmer which gives him access to peoples houses and businesses.
He does not live at my address in Leander, He is driving a car without a license ( he likes to drive drunk people home),and is living with Ron Fisher who is "getting ready to come into money" and pretty well off. Maybe he won't have to work for a while...

He is play the blues at The Water Tank on Sundays in Austin and form his band Justus Chillin. Guess a good musician and lover can get away with just about anything...
