I was contacted fairly recently by this Geno Scala guy with Shark Eating Man Productions saying he wanted to fund a project of mine in exchange for certain credits and of course a good amount of "say so" in how it all plays out. . . .Not ganna lie, The money was pretty tempting despite all he asked for in return so I thought hey why not? Even said he owned a business called The Script Mentor and could offer me some coverage and etc. as well. Didn't seem like a bad deal.

One thing though, I'd never heard of this guy or company before, and I wasn't sure what their interest in me and my project was or how they came across it (minus my crowd fuding pages, but they didn't mention it or donate on the page which I thought was odd) so I figured I'd do some research on him and his business just to see if they were legit and of course a lot of poor reviews, scam alerts, and more popped up. Just my luck.

Well I saw on the web here> http://www.thescriptmentor.com/#!contact/c3kh that they have an address listed, and I'm in the L.A. area so I get in one of these "hey they wanna fund my project so why not give 'em a go" kinda moods.

One thing though, for all you Non-LA Residents out there, this address is for the dolby theater and the entire hollywood and highland center mall, so I'm getting excited thinking well this is a legit business if they have a set up in there!

but I look up the online directory, http://hollywoodandhighland.com/  and nothing. . .swing by. . .nothing. . . email the H&H center http://hollywoodandhighland.com/contact-us/ never heard of this business OR have anything on record.

So I email the dolby as a last resort. See below.

Hello,

The Dolby Theatre is not associated with the business mentioned, and we are unaware of any businesses operating under that name within the Hollywood & Highland Center.

Thank you,

Yeah ('.')  nada. This business is totally non existant as far as a tangible office goes anyways.

Makes me wonder how they get away with posting a fake address on their site like that.

Long story short, this guy's iMDB is a bunch of bogus no writing creds, no actual links to prove he was involved with the Golden Globes like he says, no legit links or imdb pages for the businesses I mean literally none.

Just a bunch of ugly photos, he even looks like a total scammer.

All I can say is if this guy or his supposed companies contact you to try and fund something or get credit for something or offer services, don't buy into it because it is clearly a scam. Warn other writers and entertainment pros if they get an offer too, probably a phishing scam of some kind that gets your credit card numbers or paypal info.

Glad I did my research.
