Sharlet Grier Models is a scam run by Silka Sosa. She is classless, unprofessional, unethical in her business practices. She has scammed more than one model and needs an end to be put to her mischief. Mother and boutique agencies are in charge of making the proper investments to develop their models. None of which Silka Sosa does at Sharlet Grier Models.
She sends her models out to castings without proper books and compcards. Printing a sheet off a computer and calling it a compcard does not cut it. And when she does send them to castings its to crappy low end clients.
If you work for her you will never get paid and see your money ever again. She signs models left and right in hopes of being a commission moocher and make quick money. Which will never happen because you have to take care of your investments. None of which she does.
If you book a photoshoot through her she will keep your money and you will never be able to book the supposed photo shoot. Agencies are supposed to provide free or low cost shoots to develop model books. If a model pays out of pocket she must pay the photographer directly.
She does not have a NYS Business License to operate which is illegal in the state of New York.
In addition to this if you get on her bad side she will be unprofessional and childish and sabotage your relationship with other agencies. Most of the placements and claims on her websites are not of her doing. All of the models worked hard to book with other agencies and book top jobs before she was ever in the picture. She takes credit for things she did not accomplish.
She frequently changes her name, (Aliases include Silka Sosa, Silka Craighead, Silka Wingate) and website address (sharletgriermodels.com, sharletgrier.net, sharletgrier.co) to keep a clean trail on her scamming business. That way you google or do research it won't come up or you won't see previous bad reviews. In addition to this she also frequently changes location and phone number. Stable agencies do not change their name, phone number and location as frequently as this woman does.
She also claimed to do PR work at Betsey Johnson, do you think that a high end house of fashion would hire a ghetto ethnic person who doesn't know how to spell to represent them? I didn't think so....

Katherine Williams-Scott is a fictitious character created by Silka. If you look at their website the other bookers are also fictitious. She does not want to take responsibility for her actions. In my experience of having spoken to other mother agencies her argument is fallacious. If the girls think that they are models but are not model material then why "sign" them or get them on the roster in the first place? An agency would not waste their time with girls whose looks are not currently in demand for the market. Then mother agents I have worked with closely support their models, and provide proper materials for them to showcase themselves. Materials do not need to be free but rather low cost and stated before. And there are many budding decent photographers with whom girls can test with. This agency again is not reputable and does not have the strong connections that it needs in order to survive the competitive environment of New York. Google Silka Sosa and the problems that she has gotten herself into with people in the Entertainment music industry. Her behaviour with Max B (taking his money) definitely coincides with that of this "agency" (taking other models money).

I have been an employee at SG since 2010 to my Knowledge Silka is not the owner she is the manager and we have accept models and placed them with many agencies such as Red, Aim, and Topco and Colby. We do not give girls budgets for photoshoots, we allow girls to invest in there own materials for we are a small model management group with no obligation to find any models work. We do not recruit each model walks in to our office.We have a clean name and have done many great jobs, each model we can not make happy and as most bookers know, models do not meet there agreements.
Alana put this report out on our company and attached our Booker Silka when we have several bookers here. We are sorry we did not make you happy, infact alot of girl think they are models but when our clients do not hire them they get upset and make reports online. again we are still in business we have great clients and new faces, No we do not give girls free materials, agencies do not run on air, you must invest in yourself, we only help you advance to bigger agencies. we want to thank all our current models and clients. we been in business since 2009 and remain.
