Complaint Review: Sharyn Light

I find the report on here to be misleading in the extreme. Sharyn was a joy to work with. Everyone liked her. She didn't need plastic surgery, but I bet the person who started this report thread does and was jealous.

The founder of the company was Bob Cohen. He died this summer. Shortly thereafter, our company, VMS, went bankrupt. Now there is no more VMS. Bob Cohen selected the best people I've ever worked with for his company and Sharyn was no exception to the rule. I hope she gets a fantastic new job because any company would be lucky to have her working for them and I wish her the best that life has to offer! L'Chaim!

Word is on the street is that she moved away from the Los Angeles area completely.  She lives in Australia or New Zeeland now and under a new fake name.  I can just imagine why that happened!  I can just imagine what's going on with that one now!  Well happy trails to you and don't come back aroun here any time soon!  Too bad this didn't happen sooner like when I had to work with her.

I don't know anything about people going to the plastic surgeon or not but I worked there and when I did it was a place ruled by lawlessness.  So I would say there is some merit here.  Merit in the first report.  

My meaning was crystal clear, "Mandolin," so...go pop your strings!

Interesting there are four rebuttals on here that all look like they were written by the same person over two days in June.

I worked for the same company and I want to confirm that it was a destructive and toxic place. It was the kind of job where all the smart people sent out their resumes and got out of there, the dumb ones stayed. What was sad to see was that so many good people who worked there were hurt by it. I personally witnessed some very unethical dealings there. I hope some day the whole truth about everything comes to light.

In fact, for some reason, I just can't stop singing that old Cole Porter song about it's delightful, it's delicious, it's delectable, it's delirious, it's dilemna (for them), it's de-limit, it's deluxe it's De-Lovely!

For them, in fact, I do hope it ends in de-lawsuit.

I worked at the same company as Sharyn Light, and oh my stars, where do I even begin? That place had to be seen and experienced to be believed. All manner of eccentric manifestations showed up among that particular company's upper echelons. I used to call the seven biggest executives "Larry, Moe, Curly, two Ivy League Refugees, The Obergruppenfuhrer and Granola Man." A few of the execs were very decent people...but then there were The Others. It would take a volume longer than "Gone with the Wind" to write up the entire office story but suffice it to say that some of the executives managed the staff on The Popularity Contest Principle, i.e., if they liked a staff member, they promoted him/her, and if for whatever reason they didn't personally like someone, they fired them, usually over a trifling reason. Add to that, it seemed like the more a female employee was willing to FLIRT with certain members of the male executive staff, the higher that woman was bound to rise in the company. And physiologically speaking, as you can imagine, the flirty women weren't all that was rising...

Ultimately the execs who were playing all those ridiculous games were all fired - all of them - and made to clear out of there, leaving the rest of us to wonder just what took the owners so long to clean house.

That mess is the environment where Ms. Light was working, from all accounts with her integrity intact. Furthermore, she didn't have the rep of being someone who lowered herself to the level of the stunts that some of those other nuts, whoops, I mean, EMPLOYEES, were into there, either.

A few months ago I wondered where some of my old co-workers from that company's diaspora had landed, ran a search on Sharyn's name to see if she was listed anywhere online, and found the ridiculous report that's on this website. Let me repeat that. The report is ridiculous! I was immediately outraged and filed a rebuttal, but after seeing there's more action on this board, I wanted to add info about the incidents I saw happening at the company. After all, I had a front row seat. To put it in context, anybody finding that ridiculous report on here needs to fully comprehend that the company in question was not exactly a glowing palace of integrity. It was more like Degenerates Incorporated. And while it's almost inevitable that some of the people who worked there possibly would still harbor all kinds of resentments, given all the chaos that ran rampant in the place, to cast aspersions onto Sharyn, of all people, just isn't cool.

I've been working in the entertainment industry for the past 28 years in various executive positions. Ms. Light consulted with my company on a long term project and proved herself to be a highly responsible professional. We found her work invaluable and will utilize her skills once again at the next opportunity.

These remarks contained in this "report" are obviously written by a disgruntled employee who has kept a grudge for some time now. This "report" says more about the author than the subject. I find it horrible that one nasty person's revenge can hurt another person's reputation.

I've known Sharyn Light for many years and worked as part of her sales team in the L.A. office. Sharyn was a dedicated General Manager, exceptional to our staff and clients, professional and extremely hard working. I was happy to have such a considerate and engaged boss.

"Brentwood Babe" is obviously a disgruntled former employee, probably someone whose lack of good work ethic, inability to get along or problematic personal habits were noticed. They don't even state her position/title correctly, as she headed the entire Los Angeles news office.

The ridiculous original report includes unfounded rumors and speculation with no proof, false statements, personal information and trivial comments.

Any company would be lucky to have her.
I would work for her again in a heartbeat!

I think the managers of this website need to implement their own rules more closely. These violate Ripoff Reports Terms of Service, yet it was allowed to be included.

I was shocked and also thought we must have worked for different companies I don't know who this Brentwood Babe is describing but it's not my former boss, Sharyn.

She was my mentor and helped promote me within the company. She was always available to all her employees and provided an office environment that made you want to come to work. I remember her god-father and her uncle both passed away while I was there, she had to fly home(out of the country) and I know this for a fact. The so called lying is just bizarre, lying about what to whom? We had a great office I loved working for her and she was if anything too honest and too caring about everyone else. She helped me work one night until midnight on a project I was responsible for and insisited on being there for me, that was the kind of manager she was.

Whomever this "Brentwood Babe" is, is a unstable, mentally ill indiviudal who has created in his/her mind a paragraph of lies, false acqusations and other an utter defamation of character. What kind of sick mind would talk about a family member's death and say someone had "plastic surgery" I know this is L.A. but that belongs in a rag tabloid.
The Rifoff site says that many companies and individuals have tried to sue to get justice for their "good name." An Attorney will be contact Ripoff as well as investigating who or what this Brentwood Babe is? The term Babe itself if odd just as the sick minded person who created this complete pack of lies.
My "supervisor" spoken of in the Report and I are still great friends and he and my other boss will always be the most wonderful mentors in my life.
What a pathetic form of evil fantasy allowed to exist for all to witness on a website that does not use any form of responsiblity for it's content.
Therefore my Attorney will be doing whatever necessary to sue Brentwood Babe for Defamation of Character and any loss of wages due to this vile act.

I'm an ex-employee of the same company where Sharyn worked. Sharyn was fun and animated and great to work with. If she really went AWOL to have medical procedures, all I can say is show me the records! Once I see them I'll believe it, but not until then.
