Complaint Review: Shawn's Custom Cabinets

 He actually worked for me before in a different industry. He was recommended by my Remodelling contractor, and I had no reason to doubt he could do the job. He took half up front, and after he left he did start to work on the cabinets. He installed some of the cabinetry (the bases) so the granite guy could do his job. After that, it got real tough to get ahold of Shawn. He would not answer calls or messages for several days, and when he finally came back the second time after 2 months, he still had to order more things. a few days ago (just about 3 months into a job that should have taken less than a month) I had become very impatient with his lack of communication and with his blowing off meeting times when he did say he was coming. I don't know what his problem is, but if you want to get ripped off, then you have found the right company!!! He has no business license, and I had to write checks to his personal name, Shawn Cribbs. If you want your job to take 3 months and not get finished, and have someone not answer your phone calls or texts, then you have found the right person. When he finally got back to me after taking me for $7000, he told me to have someone else finish it. I guess Shawn must live in a world where everyone is just fine for waiting around forever with no updates and no response. He is also not running a legitimate business. He has no insurance, and no business license, and is not registered with the state of Florida (last time he registered his business was 2010 according to sunbiz dot org) RUN FOR THE HILLS FROM SHAWN's Custom Cabinets!!!! Unless you like being treated like dirt and getting ripped off. Then go for it!

Shawn Cribbs contracted with me to do my custom cabinets in two bathrooms. He collected half of $9500 for high end cabinets. He installed the bases (albeit the workmanship was OK, not great). The granite guys got their tops in, and then the waiting game begain. I contracted the cabinets on Jan. 9th, 2017. I am writing this on April 7th, 2017. The last time Shawn replied to me was after I sent him numerous texts and made several attempts to contact him through telephone, and after having to get under his skin when he missed two meets in 5 days, and he told me to get someone else to finish the job.

I am now left with a job that is half done, and have paid him $7000.  This is outragous! I was given his name from my contractor, who did a great job on the drywall and tile and all the other remodelling. Unfortuanately Shawn Cribbs isn't the man he used to be. He is sloppy, late, doesn't get back to you, and has a bad temper. And now, after researching sunbiz dot org, I have found out that he isn't even licensed! How did I get myself into business with this discrase of a man? Shawn's Custom Cabinets. DO NOT USE. You have been warned. Make sure you check the business out before you sign or pay anything.
