In October I contacted my insurance agent, Cliff Gutneckt, about converting a term insurance policy to a whole life policy. At the time that the term insurance policy was taken, Mr. Gutneckt told me "at any time" I could convert this policy over to whole life. I did this in October 2002, to only find out today that the company cancelled the policy for the new one thus leaving me without any type of life insurance at all.

I was even told by Mr. Gutneckt via the phone that the new policy was cancelled because I was on total disability. I had paid on the previous policy for aproximately 8 years, and I have been total disabitity since 1992, so at the time that the policy was taken out (the original one) I was on total disability to begin with and so converting to the new policy should have been accepted by the company.

Also in 1994 I was going to convert this policy, but I could not afford the premium. Mr. Gutneckt came to my home picked up my old policy and never returned my old policy to me. I have requested on different occasions to have the old policy returned to me. Again today I asked for a copy of the old policy to be sent to me.

I feel that I have paid for something for approximately 8 years @ $17.80 and now find out that "supposedly" the company would not have accepted me.

So do I feel that I have been "ripped off"? Yes I do.
