Dont Waste Your Money!

I was very disappointed after spending $2600 for canvas work and thinking I was getting professional work done.  Not the case! This was a complete rush job to get me out the door and onto the next.

The owner sold me on adding the U shape windows which did nothing but leak when it rained.  The windows were cut so poorly you would think a blind person made the cuts and that was part of the problem which caused leaks after they tried to correct the cuts.  They ended up putting makeshift flaps over the zippers to prevent water from getting in cutting gaps which look horrible and completely unprofessional.  I am embarrassed to show anyone the work that they have done now.

Aside from that, there were multiple areas I had to send back for repair.  Zippers in the wrong place, too much zipper in some areas, incomplete stitching on 3 of the 5 windows.  I had to point to the problems because they never caught it.  The owner tells me a day later it happened because they were having a problem with their sewing machine.  I would have thought they would have checked their stitching knowing there was a problem.  But then again, this was a rush job, no time to check anything.

Lets not forget about them walking all over the boat and seating with their dirty shoes.  I spent 2 hours cleaning the boat when they were done.  Also, the new windows were dirty and full of hand prints, had to clean those also.

Not to mention if they break something on your boat they will not tell you.  Two things were broken from them and when I mentioned it to them in email the issue was ignored, just like all the other problems they were aware of and hoped I would not notice.

I have tried to work with the owner to have the 3 front windows redone, but he refuses to respond.

Very disappointed with this company and the owner does not seem to care to do things right.  They have already lost two additional jobs at my marina due to their work.   Its a shame because those two jobs would have brought in a lot more than what it would have cost to make the three front windows again the correct way.

If all I was doing was complaining, then lets look at the actual work and not some photo which shows nothing.

Visit the site I setup for your company ShipShapeMarineCanvasReviews.com.

I have had quite a few visitors since the site it up and I am sure you have lost work.  The photos index in with photos of other jobs you have done.

Enjoy!

Some people just prefer to complain

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

I have been in business for 10 years with canvas shops in 3 locations in Florida.  My canvas and awning sales exceed 1 million Dollors per year.  I'm pretty sure  I know what I'm doing.  Yet no matter what you advise or how hard you try, you always come across someone who just doesn't want to be happy.  They prefer to find problems and complain.   That's what we have here.  This customer was given a price to do this job a certain way.  He didn't want to spend the money.  We needed to find a way to do the job less expensive.  That's what we did and when we delivered the job, all he  did was find problems.  One of his complaints were needle holes where the stitching was.  Are you kidding me?  How did he expect us to sew something?  In all the years in business, no one every complained of needle holes.  Another complaint was leaking.  A legitimate complaint that was dealt with immediatly.  We fixed the problem within days.  Still not happy.  See a pattern here.  Nothing we were about to do was going to satisfy this man.  However, I was still going to remake these windows.  Not anymore.  Instead of dealing with me, he chose this route.  His choice.
By the way.   I have done 4 other jobs in his marina before him.  No complaints.  As a matter of fact, the reason I got his job was because someone referred him to me because of the good work I did.  Go Figure.
