Shipping Experts/ Turtle Express Shipping Licensed to steal vehicle Sacrramento California
Broker was Stateway Auto Shippers who contracted Shipping Experts to transport my 86 yr old Mom's car from Modesto Ca & to Pflugerville Tx. They agreed to pick up the car between 7-9 on Monday 12/8/14. They called & stated they hadn't rec'd the info & would pick it up between 1-6 instead. I had a flight out of Sacramento & had to have my Mom's landlord reliece the car. The driver called me & stated he would deliver between 1-4 on Thur 12/11/14. Called me the night before & state he was in town & would deliver the car. I told him I couldn't be there till the next day as agreed. He was very nasty & said he would be here at 8 the next morning. I told him no to stick with the original agreement of 1-6. I called his boss who was very nasty & said he didn't care that he was going to drop the car at a tow yard. He didn't show up on the 11 as agreed. When I called him he refused to tell me where the car was & said he didn't care how I felt. He holding my car somewhere & refuses to tell me where it is. He wants me to send the $650.00 payment & then he will tell me where it is. He did say he would go get the car & deliver it for an additional $160.00. Plus they want me to pay the storage bill they incurred for dropping my car early.
Apparently shipping experts & turtle express are the same company since they have the same phone number.
I contacted Stateway Auto and they say they are contacting them but no results.
Today is 12/13/14 & my 86 yr old mother still doesn't know where her car is. I have contacted the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association (FMCSA) who governs the transport and they won't do anything either. I contacted DOT and they don't do anything either. I have contacted the Police and they say it is a civil matter & can't do anything. I believe the DOT number they get is a license to steel.
