Complaint Review: Ships Rentals

W.L. Shipes and Judy Shipes owners of Shipes Rentals are liars and a couple of thieves. I rented a house from these two dogs and they promised to have the house cleaned and all repairs completed before my scheduled date to move in. I was relocating to the Augusta area and arrived at the house after a 256 mile drive in a U-haul truck to find no repairs completed and the house fifthy.

There was also a horrible retched ordor that made me dizzy and sick contained inside the house. I later learned that this ordor was a very dangerous gas leak. I did not move my belongings in the house in this condition. I called the Shipes and they wanted two days to get the house ready after already having two weeks. I could not keep the truck two days so I found and rented another house.

W.L. Shipes told me that he would return my money. I returned the key immediately and he said they would mail my money to my current address. Sixty days passed and still no money was returned and tons of lies told every time I called about my money.

I filed a claim in small claims court and these two dogs lied in court and claimed the house was clean and repaired days prior to the date of my move. WL Shipes admitted in court that he had lied to me about returning my money. I gusess the judge either knew this liar or was impressed by his lies ; he ruled in the Shipes' favor.
