Complaint Review: Shirley Colbert

    The letter is  is incorrect in alot of the information that was written.  First of all I was interviewed by Shirley Colbert before buying a pup.  I meet all of her qualifcations to be a breeder.  She promised me to get the CKC papers for the pup I was buying.  She got upset because I wouldn't put down another deposit for a white male pup even before they were born.  I told her I was not interested   She also promised to ship him.  At time of time for shipping she said she couldn't ship because she had just had an airport lose a dog she had shipped around Christmas.   There was more to the story than that.  I told her I would fly out there and pick her up.  She didn't have a health certifcate.  In order to ship a dog you need one.  Was this the reason she couldn't fly her.  Not hard to get.  Just take pup to vet and have it checked out and if healthy vet will write one out for the airlines.  She was at the airport and I got my dog.  She was a little pink at that time.  She just kept getting pinker and never grew any hair on her legs and stomach.  That is when I took her to the vet and found mange.  I treated her as the vet recommended.  She got better after about 4 or 5 months.  She was well fed and treated like one of our kids.  She has a sweet personality. 

    I would never file a report like this if it wasn't true.  I helt up to my end but Shirley Colbert never helt up to her end of giving me her papers.  I tried contacting her thru texts for months and she said I no longer had constumer service.  She never responded after that .

     Beware of this breeder because she doesn't hold up to her promise.

 I came across this site by accident and have to comment on what I am seeing. I can not believe the negative comment this person has made against this breeder. We have just purchased our second puppy from this breeder and are thrilled with him as well as our experience with this breeder. I have to agree with what "Darcy" said. Shirley Colbert is an awesome breeder and very knowledgeable about how to make sure the puppies get a great start as terrific members of their family. As to the Mange issue Rossane is talking about....I think it is a bunch of crap. I am sure I own a sister to her puppy since they look identical and sounds like they are the same age. I have had no issue with either one of the dogs we got from Shirley Colbert. Not any type of issues at all. Not even a flea and all fectal and physical tests my vet did showed no probelms at all. Our puppies are very health and happy and I would definitely recomend her to any one and have many times. My sister has even purchase dogs from her with no issues. This is the breeder you want to go to for a great dog.

I read this rip off report and had a good laugh. Not sure what this person "Rosanne" is trying to accomplish with this bogus report but wanted to share a few things I know and are easily proven with a simple search for information on the internet. Rosanne claims that SHIRLEY COLBERT of DAISY HILL PUPPIES is a rip off breeder and sold her a puppy that has a genetic, incurable disease called Demodectic Mange. She also states this puppy now can not be bred. Any idiot can do a search on Demodectic Mange and find the following which I have copy and pasted below: :Demodicosis, also called demodectic mange or red mange, is caused by a sensitivity to and overpopulation of Demodex canis as the animal's immune system is unable to keep the mites under control. Demodex is a genus of mite in the family Demodicidae. Demodex canis occurs naturally in the hair follicles of most dogs in low numbers around the face and other areas of the body. In most dogs, these mites never cause problems. However, in certain situations, such as an underdeveloped or impaired immune system, intense stress, or malnutrition, the mites can reproduce rapidly, causing symptoms in sensitive dogs that range from mild irritation and hair loss on a small patch of skin to severe and widespread inflammation, secondary infection, and in rare cases can be a life-threatening condition. Small patches of demodicosis often correct themselves over time as the dog's immune system matures, although treatment is usually recommended." link to actual article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demodectic_mange I have to aske why this pup is stressed, or poorly malnurised months after the pup was purchaseed from the breeder. Is rosanne not doing her job and caring for this puppy? Obviously Rosanne is trying to ruin the reputation of this breeder. WHY? when I looked at the website in question it clearly states these dogs are not for breeding purposes.. IS ROSANNE BREEDING A DOG THAT WAS NOT SOLD TO BE BRED AGAINST THE BREEDERS WISHES? I would bet this is the case. I will also share my experience with this breeder since I have a litter mate of "rosanne's" dog. First of all my dog does not and never has had any parisitic infection including mange. In fact she is one of the healthiest dogs I have every owned. she was very well solialized and immediately has won the hearts of every one she meets including her vet. This is an awsome breeder and any one lucky enough to get one of her puppies is blessed. She is very knowledgable about her dogs and goes way beyond what is required to make sure pups are healthy and have a great start with their new family. Do not believe any of this type of black balling going on that you see on the net. It is false. Shirley Colbert is an awesome person and great breeder and I will be purchasing more of her pups in the future.
