Complaint Review: ShopNBC

ShopNBC Company will not honor one hundred dollar rebate on computer advertised in October. on TV. Purchased item at that time. Found out later, that rebate is only applicable for November purchase only! Naperville Illinois

ShopNBC advertised on TV, October7, 2006 an AcerAspireAMD 1.8GHZ notebook on sale for $909.99, with a $100.00 mail in rebate. I purchased this item as a Christmas present, and asked the telephone customer service representative, since this was a gift, would there be a problem with either receiving rebate, or possible return. She said she would make a note, assured me that there would be 'no problem'.

I placed the order, computer arrived on October 10, 2006. Box was gift wrapped and opened Christmas. When I started to process the rebate offer, to be processed by OnRebate.com, I found out that the offer was only applicable on purchases made from November 1 to November 30, 2006.

When I called shopNBC to discuss how the rebate would be honored , Customer Service said that there was nothing they could do, nor could I return the computer, because it was over the 30 day refund date.

I really feel that this was pure and simple false advertising, and I'm out $100.00.
