Twice now - Shopping Essentials and it's various aliases (value plus, ap3, ip3 and more - all connected to some company in norwalk named "Adaptive Marketing") have gotten a hold of two different credit card numbers of mine. The first time was a year ago, and now a current episode, but both follow same pattern.

Once they have your number they make charges such as $14.95, $19.95, $9.95 and other small amounts each month under different company names. These charges are supposedly for some sort of membership rewards system where you get money back and discounts for whatever dollar you spend. Their website has all kinds of fake logos and fake partners to make them look official.

When you call their customer service line as listed on your credit card statement, they pretend to be unable to find a "current" account for you, only the "cancelled" account, and ask you for more personal info and eventually, your credit card number again so they can pull up your info. It is a scam.

Not sure how they got my number. I have reported them to my credit card company and disputing the charges.
