I originally called Shoreline in 2007 when my central air wasn't cooling. The technicion charged me $120 and it worked for a while. In April, 2008 I noticed that my unit was leaking. A technicion came out, drained and flushed the unit and removed the water from the bucket that was there to catch the leak for a total cost of $110. A little over a month passed and I noticed the unit was again leaking. I called Shoreline again and they told me the technicion would be there that morning as I was next on his list. He showed up in the afternoon, took a large mirror off the wall to turn off the breakers that were behind it. He examined the unit and told me the pan was all rusted out. He said I had the option of replacing the pan for $750, replace the inside unit or replace the whole system. The price he quoted for a 3 ton 14 Seer system was $3615, which is $1000 more than comparable systems I researched. For that useless information, I was charged $220. After the technicion (Brian) left, I discovered that he had left the mirror off the wall, had left the temperature at 90 with the setting on fan AND he didn't even remove the water from the almost full bucket! When I called to complain, the owner (Don) said he wouldn't match the lower prices I had found and would only refund half of my service charge ($110). I told him that wasn't good enough and told him that he would get the most negative publicity he could imagine for his refusal to be resonable. If the bucket had overflowed or the mirror had gotten broken, I could have sued him for damages! I'm still contemplating taking him to court. I've spent quite a bit for nothing! I should have been advised to replace the system from the beginning! I will never go to these rip-off artists again.

i have actually had a long service contract with shoreline air for about 9 years.

i hired shoreline in my building and have recieved nothing less than professional service during their and my tenure here.

one thing about shoreline that i know is they don't work for free and if you call them be ready to do the repair. their prices are not the lowest but their service is great. in the area of fort lauderdale the consumer needs to understand you get what you pay for. if you bring a contractor in your house you need to oversee the project. did the company do what they said they would do? did they tell you a repair was ok or did they recommend replacement of the system? was it that you couldn't afford it and had them do a patch job? it sounds like someone here made a call to fix something and maybe needed to replace the whole unit.

just a thought
