Mark and Susan Thoren's failure to perform work after being paid by personal check to Mark Thoren in the amount of $995.00 on 2/27/2018. They were hired to care for our lawn with an all-inclusive lawn-scaping package which included weed and fertilizer care at our primary residence. We agreed on service from February 2018 until December 2018. They were scheduled to cut the grass every two weeks per month.

They cut our grass a total of five times from Feb 27th, 2018 through June 12, 2018. My husband Carlos and I both complained to Mark on numerous occasions the weeds and bushes were left unattended during their visits, we asked for him to cut the weeds if he didn't want to treat them with chemicals due to the rain and denied our requests. On June 12th, 2018, Mark and Susan Thoren came to service our lawn and I approached and confronted Mark about their quality of service, Mark was visibly upset and quit without notice, additionally he said he would issue a refund statement. We emailed him later that night explaining we expected not to be charged after they left abruptly on the job and leaving our lawn undone. I also asked about the refund statement, what the amount would be and when it would be sent, he replied "There is no charge for today non-service event. I will send a refund statement at my leisure." I replied to that email and complained about his lack of professionalism and his reply was "maybe if your wife wasn't such an a*****e b***h, I'd be more helpful.".

Mark and Susan sent a personal refund check on 7/10/2018 for $357.14. They cut our grass a total of five times from March to May, and left June through November service undone. That is a total of twelve weeks out of eighteen weeks of service undone but is attempting to refund only 35% of the upfront payment. Furthermore, evidence of their behavior is documented by their BBB reviews and Yelp reviews. In the months of June and July 2018 they have received eleven negative reviews all in similar complaint. Mark and Susan have no intention of keeping clients satisfied with their service. They scam honest people by asking for payment up front, provide abysmal service, the customer confronts and complains about their quality of service and they quit mid contract.
