Showcase Honda Failing to cover new car warranty Phoenix, Arizona
I bought a 2011 Honda Ridge line at another Honda dealer But because Showcase was closer to my work I used them for servicing
At about 20,000 miles my brakes starting squealing I took it to Showcase and they told me that the brakes were glazing
I also told them that my glove box was not closing properly, you could see the light going off and on
Yes I know that is a minor issue but you spend $30,000 on a vehicle you expect everything to work
Anyway ever few thousands miles I would take the vehicle into the service shop foe brakes squealing and glove box not closing
I kept going maybe every 3-5,000 miles for the same two things
Right before the warranty expired, I took the truck in for the same issues,. The service writer told me that in the newer cars the glove box light always stayed on
I walked over and opened the glove box and pushed the little push button for the glove box to turn on and off. I did this several times for the service guy and his only comment was " A**HOLE"
I told a service manager and all he said was he will speak to him
No apology or anything
What has happened to customer satisfaction, no body cares especially car dealers. They make their money not by selling cars but by adding things on to contracts
And not honoring warranties or doing shoddy work
3,000 miles after the warranty expired I had the brakes checked by two different repairs shops and they both said that I need a front brake job
I looked at the pads and could see were they were below indicator
So now I have to spend $850.00 out of pocket so have them fixed

This statement is really the problem.
So now I have to spend $850.00 out of pocket so have them fixed
This indicates that you think replacing brake pads is a defect to be fixed. In reality they are wear parts and are replaced normally, not a defect. I obviously can't speak for ALL warranty's but replacing pads was never covered by warranty on any car I've ever had.
They were obviously BS'ing you about the glove box light however. I doubt if any car keeps that light on all the time. It may be difficult to fix but that doesn't mean they don't have to fix it.

You really expected them to replace the brake pads under warranty?

Unless you have an unusual or extended warranty, brakes, wipers, tires, etc. are considered wear items the customer is responsible for.
Many brakes squeal now since asbestos was outlawed years ago.
Yes, the comment by the service writer was uncalled for and should have been brought up with the owner.
