Complaint Review: Sierra Toyota

My wife bought a vehicle from Sierra Toyota in Feb 2001. About a month later the finance manager who wrote up the deal called in an excited state. He said he doesn't know how he could have made such a mistake. He errored on the contract and increased our down payment by $1,000.00 He said we must come in immediatly and give them a thousand dollars or he'll lose his job.

I did offer to return the vehicle for our down payment and trade in but was told that is not possible. I would either have to give them money or sign another contract (which is illegal to suggest)

Anyhow after a week of holding our ground the owner of the dealership said that his people were wrong in asking for more money and that they were dropping the issue because it was thier error.

In the mean time the fail to transfer title to the finance company and it turns out the vehicle did not have clear title in either California or Colorado.

Time goes by and they are now suing for their $1,000.00 error. Funny how they catch you off gaurd like that. We go to court in the morning and will see how we do.
