Complaint Review: Signature Construction?

The owner, Terry Redlin has one of the worst reputations in the area. Unfortunately some people don't read the paper & they give him a shot at adding addition a kitchen, garage, etc. I was once a customer, then I started to track his future customers when I saw him apply for permits in the public record. The house his currently lives in (he built from the ground up) actually cracked in half from the ground, so you could actually see the inside of the house from the outside!! I have been in contact with other customers that have used him, and he is getting worse. He screws over his subcontractors, so you will end up with a lien on your house, most projects fall months, even a year behind.... one house in Willoughby was simple to be remodeled on the inside, to be done within 4 months... 1 year & 2 months later, the customer is paying TWO mortgages because Terry works for 2 hours a day with his brother, then heads for the bar! The fact that he uses new subcontractors all the time, says alot. He has been restricted to build in the city if Mentor from all of his building violations (Public Information). He also has a habit of selling you at a price, then adding more to the bill without justifying the extra needed money. I have learned that once, a customer questioned his request for extra money, he said he needed extra materials, after a $3000.00 deposit, he showed up with $300.00 yes three hundred dollars worth of drywall, so she asked where did the rest of the money went... guess what happened.. by the time she got home, Terry had removed the drywall & kept the money, she got her money back! The customer was an employee of Holmes Builders in Mentor, give them a a call for proof! I have kept in touch with 8 previous customers who got screwed!! Things got so bad that after so many lawsuits, & upcoming liens, he had to put his house in his girlfriends name last month, ha!
He has adds placed in the local newspaper & internet, but go ahead, try to get hold of him.. he screens his calls. (440) 639-9121. Once he gets your money, you are screwed. What really made me mad? I personally go screwed out of thousands of dollars & not enough to take him to court. I give him the con-artist award of the year!
