I had a long standing business relationship with Mr. Silas and awarded a website redesign project to him in January 2009. As is standard with any project, an agreed upon timeline of 5-6 weeks was presented and Mr. Silas (aka www.merchantdesigner.com aka www.silascreative.com), was paid $2500 as deposit of 1/2 of the project total with the remainder to be paid upon completion of the project.

The project started off fine, but then Mr. Silas began to behave completely unprofessionally within about 3 weeks of the product inception by taking excessive time off, cancelling meetings, providing inferior work, failing to follow documented instruction etc. The project dragged on incessantly with Mr. Silas (aka Mr. George Tsihlas) failing to provide any meaningful work. At about the 20 week mark into the project, Mr. Silas decided to take a weeks vacation on 3 days notice. Upon returning from vacation, Mr. Silas contacted me by email to inform me that he was no longer working on the site redesign.

As per my contract with Mr. Silas, I filed an arbitration suit to recoup my losses. On October 4, 2009, an award in my favor was made by the American Arbitration Association requiring Mr. George Silas to make restitution by October 31, 2009. Mr. Silas did not pay and therefore, I must file suit in Sacramento Small Claims Court at an additional expense to me in order to enforce the award and render a judgement.

I attest that the above is true and factual and can be supported with documents provided by the American Arbitration Association and the impartial arbitrator who rendered his decision.

I would like to further state that my company has an impeccable reputation and I am fearful that a crop of "complaints" could arise as a result of this post.

I am happy to report the Mr. Silas contacted me regarding payment. It seems as though his payment was lost in the mail or somehow misdirected and he is willing to send another as replacement.

I appreciate Mr. Silas's prompt attention to this matter and look forward to it being resolved in the very near future.
