I ordered a pair of Georgio Brutini Plain Toe shoes. When I opened the package I noticed immediately that one shoe was defective. The plastic seam between the upper and lower was uneven and sloppy. It was an obvious factory second (or should have been).


I immediately closed the box without removing any tags and returned the merchandise using the enclosed form and return label. The shoes were actually received back at Silberman's the very next day. I have UPS confirmation of this.


After several days, with no refund made to my credit card, I contacted Silberman's and asked them to issue the refund. They took the time to send me an email back to say they had received the return and it would be refunded in 30 days.


I wrote back and insisted they refund immediately since they acknowledged receipt of the returned merchandise. They took the time to email me back again to say it would take 30 days. In the meantime, I am paying interest on my credit card charge and they are going to charge me for shipping the item back to them too!


Bottom line, you should probably have doubts about thier merchandise because anyone could have easily seen the defect in Georgio Brutini shoes they sent to me. And, if you return something, they apparently will take their time refunding your money. This is not good business. It is one-sided on their part and they probably bank on the shipping charges.
